Texas Association of Mariachi Educators

Dear TAME Family,
On behalf of the Texas Association of Mariachi Educators, I want to extend my sincere appreciation and congratulations to everyone who helped make our recent South Region Contest such an outstanding success.
From start to finish, the day was filled with incredible performances, professionalism, and the unmistakable heart that defines mariachi education. The musicianship, preparation, and pride displayed by every ensemble truly showcased the strength and growth of our programs across the region. It was inspiring to see so many students representing their schools and communities with excellence.
Because of your hard work and commitment, we experienced strong participation, smooth operations, and a supportive atmosphere that celebrated both tradition and artistry. Thank you to our directors, adjudicators, hosts, volunteers, and families—your time and dedication are what make these events possible.
As we continue through the season, I would also like to share a few important updates:

Virtual Submissions officially closed on February 7th.
Central, East, and North must register by February 14th for in person at their designated region

We are excited to share that the number of groups registering for the Area round has grown exponentially, reflecting the incredible expansion and momentum of mariachi programs across Texas.

Advancing groups will be announced Sunday after TMEA.

Please join us for the TAME Meeting at TMEA on Friday at 5:00 PM in CC215. We encourage all directors to attend as we discuss association updates and upcoming plans.
This growth is something we should all be proud of. It speaks volumes about the dedication of our educators and the passion of our students. Together, we are not only preserving the traditions of mariachi, but actively building a stronger future for music education in our state.
Thank you for everything you do for your students and for TAME. I look forward to seeing many of you at TMEA and at our upcoming events.
