Torringford Tigers
November 2025
A Message from Mrs. Galullo & Mrs. Austin
Dear Torringford Families,
As we welcome November, we’re filled with appreciation for our wonderful Torringford community. This month, our schoolwide theme is empathy.
In our morning announcements, students will be reminded to have empathy, recognize their own and others’ feelings, notice similarities and differences in feelings, and show compassion. Compassion means saying kind words or doing something helpful to show you care how another person feels. When students can identify and respond to others’ feelings in a caring way, it helps create a positive and accepting school climate.
Our Social Emotional Learning program, Second Step, includes lessons on empathy. You’ll also receive home letters explaining why empathy is important, along with fun activities to help your child identify feelings and practice showing empathy and compassion. We hope you find them helpful! Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions about supporting empathy and compassion at home.
As the weather turns cooler, please remind your child to dress warmly for outdoor activities so they can stay comfortable while enjoying recess and fresh air.
With Thanksgiving break just around the corner (November 26th–28th), we want to take a moment to recognize the dedication of our teachers and staff, the joy our students bring to learning, and the ongoing support of our families and PTO. Together, you make Torringford such a special place to grow and learn.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving season!
With Tiger Pride,
Mrs. Galullo (Principal) & Mrs. Austin (Assistant Principal)

Pre-Kindergarten Discoveries - Where curiosity and fun go hand in hand!
Music Therapy with Mr. Irving
Our preschool students have been enjoying music therapy sessions with Mr. Irving, our talented music therapist. Each week, students are exposed to live guitar music and even get the chance to touch and strum the guitar themselves. Mr. Irving also introduces a variety of lively dance music and preschool-friendly instruments, giving everyone a chance to explore sounds, rhythms, and movement. Every session is engaging, joyful, and tailored so that each student can participate in their own way. We are so lucky to have Mr. Irving sharing his music with us!

So Much Action, So Much Learning—PE is Happening
The last two months have been very busy in physical education; students have been moving, learning, and challenging themselves in new ways. From teamwork activities to skill-building games, every class has been full of energy and excitement. PE isn’t just about exercise, it’s about learning, trying new things, and having fun along the way!
From the Desk of Mrs. DiCostanzo and Ms. Tracy
We have been busy visiting classrooms and spending time with students! These visits give us a chance to connect with classes, support social-emotional learning, and see all the great things happening each day.
We love getting to know our students better and helping them build the skills they need to feel confident and successful at school.
