Dear Wilson Families,

It has been an incredible and busy month across our district. We officially kicked off our testing season with AZELLA assessments, and I am proud of the focus, preparation, and determination our students and staff have demonstrated. Testing season is an important time for our schools, and our Wildcats are rising to the challenge.

Beyond the classroom, our campuses have been filled with memorable moments—from family sweetheart dances and engaging parent–teacher conferences to a wonderful 4th grade concert that showcased the talent and confidence of our students. These events, along with the meaningful learning happening daily in our classrooms, reflect the strong partnership between our schools and families.

As we move into March, I want to emphasize the importance of student attendance. With state testing continuing throughout March and April, being present and on time each day is critical to student success. Every instructional minute counts, and consistent attendance ensures students feel prepared and confident.

Please also mark your calendars: Spring Break will take place March 9–13. We hope your family enjoys a safe and restful break.

Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to our students. Together, we are building strong foundations for lifelong success.

With appreciation,
Mr. Rose
Superintendent
Wilson Elementary School District

Family Sweetheart Dance Brings Joy and Connection Family Sweetheart Dance Brings Joy and Connection

Our Family Sweetheart Dance was a beautiful evening filled with laughter, music, and meaningful moments between our students and their loved ones. Families gathered together to celebrate, dance, and create lasting memories in a space full of joy and connection. From the decorations to the smiles on every face, it was truly a special night for our Wilson community.

Events like these remind us that school is more than just academics—it’s about building relationships and strengthening the bond between home and school. Thank you to all of our families and staff who helped make this night so memorable. We are grateful to share these moments with you.

8th Grade Writers Build Strong Foundations for Their Essays 8th Grade Writers Build Strong Foundations for Their Essays

Our 8th grade students have been hard at work strengthening their writing skills by focusing on the importance of background knowledge in essay writing. In class, students are learning how to research, gather relevant information, and build a solid foundation before developing their arguments.

This critical step in the writing process helps students become more confident and thoughtful writers. By understanding the context of their topics, they are better equipped to communicate their ideas clearly and effectively—skills that will support them well beyond the classroom.

As we approach testing season at Wilson ESD, we want to remind everyone that attendance matters more than ever. Every day counts as we prepare for important assessments.

That's why we’re excited to continue our “Too Cool to Miss School” campaign! Let’s make sure our students are here, ready, and eager to show what they’ve learned. Together, we can set them up for success—because when you show up, you’re already halfway there!

Student Council Spreads Kindness with Staff Appreciation Café Student Council Spreads Kindness with Staff Appreciation Café

In celebration of the Week of Kindness, our Student Council took the lead in showing appreciation for our incredible staff by hosting a complimentary café experience. Staff members were invited to enjoy refreshments and small treats as a token of gratitude for the care and dedication they show our students each day.

This thoughtful act of kindness not only brightened our staff’s day, but also highlighted the leadership and compassion of our students. We are proud to see our Student Council model what it means to give back and create a positive school culture rooted in appreciation and respect.

Get ready to celebrate Read Across America Week at Wilson ESD! This week is all about the joy of reading, and we’re excited to share that the adventure doesn’t stop at school.

Reading at home is just as important! By reading together at home, students build stronger literacy skills, boost their imagination, and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Let’s make reading a family activity—whether it’s a story before bed or a quiet moment during the day, every page turned helps our kids grow!
