Urey Counseling Corner
Dream. Plan. Go!
1st 9 weeks-It's a wrap!!
We did it, Falcons! đ The first quarter is in the books. Whether these nine weeks felt like a breeze or a climb, you showed up, learned new things, and grew stronger. That matters.
To our students:
Youâve been building habits, navigating friendships, and figuring out what works for you. Celebrate the winsâbig and small. Missed a goal? Thatâs feedback, not failure. Letâs reset together:
-
Routines: Aim for consistent sleep, a simple homework plan, and a quick backpack check each night.
-
Belonging: Say hi to someone new, BE AN UPSTANDER, and be the reason someone else feels included.
-
Asking for help: Strong students ask for help until they understand or get what they need! Your teachers, counselor, and staff are in your corner.
To our families:
Thank you for partnering with us. Your encouragement, car rides, check-ins, and calendar juggling make a real difference. As we start Quarter 2, here are some ideas to help the next 9 weeks be even better:
-
2-Minute Check-In: âHigh/Low/HelpââWhat was the high of your day? The low? Where do you need help?
-
Planner Peek: Get your student into the habit of using a paper or electronic planner. Once per week, glance at due dates and upcoming tests together.
-
Screens & Sleep: Guard a 30â60 minute wind-down before bed to get better sleep and help with focus and energy at school each day.
Always here for you!!

October-Anti-Bullying Awareness at Urey
I love to go in the classrooms and teach lessons and our kids did a great job coming up with ideas to keep bullying out of Urey. Students created posters for the school and a unity chain to remind us of our mission to STAY STRONG AND STAY CONNECTED!!
Conversation Starters-STAY CONNECTED WITH YOUR STUDENT:)
- âWhatâs a choice you made this week that youâre proud of?â
- âWhen you have a tough decision, what helps you decide what to do?â
- âWhatâs one responsibility you like having at school or at home?â
- âWhatâs something new youâd like to be in charge of?â
