Welcome to Our Heartbeat Newsletter!
If you're new here—welcome! Every Friday, we send out our Heartbeat of the Wildcat newsletter to keep you informed and connected. Each edition includes highlights of what’s been happening around the school during the week, as well as important updates and upcoming events.
Stay tuned and thank you for being part of our Wildcat community!
Around the Halls
Last week, sixth graders grew crystals on pipe cleaners to deepen their understanding of minerals.
SFC Ryan Halcomb of the U.S. Army National Guard visited Mrs. Dalton's 1st Bell English 12 CP class to share information about college funding options and to discuss various career opportunities.
Students of the week.
We are so thankful for LEAD Training and the Clermont County World Based Learning Group that created a 4 part conference series titled Futures Forward. The goal is to prepare students for in demand careers. 8 Williamsburg students had the opportunity to join and learn!
7th graders are creating pop art.
Physical science students are creating tie-dye T-shirts as they explore the process of chromatography with ink solutions.
Our STEM program is growing, and students are playing a big role in getting the lab ready! With the arrival of new equipment—CNC machines, 3D printers, Lasers and Table saws, students have been hands-on in helping teachers set up the space.
By unpacking, assembling, and testing the tools, students are gaining valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and responsibility. Their excitement has made the setup process both fun and educational. Teachers are proud of the initiative students have shown and believe this ownership will spark even more enthusiasm for STEM learning this year. We can’t wait to see the creative projects that will soon come to life in our upgraded lab! Now that everything is ready, we’re excited to start using the lab for real projects, one student said. “It’s a lot more than just plugging things in,” said one student volunteer. “We’re figuring out how all the pieces fit together, and it feels good knowing we’re the first to make it work.” Helping to build the space makes us feel more connected to it—and we can’t wait to see what we create next. Teachers also see this as a chance to model real-world STEM careers, where workers often unpack, install, and test new technologies as part of their jobs. “This is authentic learning,” Mr. Herron explained. “Students are gaining practical experience while also building excitement for the work ahead.”
