Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Enjoy the moment...
Good morning!
Happy Sunday and I hope your weekend is a tremendous one! Congratulations to our fall activities who have wrapped up their seasons and we are still marching on with Football this Friday @ Sandy Creek. We have a lot of activities and our participation is very good! We had the opportunity to recognize our MS/HS activities during their Recognition Rally and it is incredible how many students were on the gym floor. I would love to see all of our students on the floor because they are part of something beyond just the academic day. Quiz Bowl, FFA, FBLA, NHS, Band, Choir, Dance/Cheer, just to name a few that are behind the scenes that are part of many students lives as well. We love celebrating all of our students and the many things they do!
This even is in elementary! Whether it is StuCo, youth programs, band, or leadership roles designed throughout the day. Our students have the opportunity to grow and be recognized for their positivity and their many things they do. We had the opportunity to recognize our youth volleyball, dance, and football programs that our elementary students participated in throughout the fall and we will celebrate our Book-It achievements this Monday! It will be a great time and we are proud of all the work our elementary students do as well!
With that, enjoy every moment. You never know when something is going to come to an end as everything is finite at some point. We can sometimes get be so wrapped up in the past or thinking of the future that we lose track of just enjoying what we are doing in the moment and now. We all want what is best for our kids, our students, and for ourselves; sometimes we get so wrapped up in the fear of what is next that we don't just enjoy what is playing out in front of us.
I will use Friday night as an example. Our football team has earned the privilege, at that time, to be the remaining 16 teams out of 58 in D1. It was a heck of the battle and it was fun to just sit back, watch what was happening, and trusting that the training and practices will payoff. How many of you felt that way? Don't get me wrong, human nature tends to push us to think "worst case scenario" but we should also refocus to enjoy the moment. Enjoy the competition, the opportunity, and enjoying our kids. You can think of this in any scenario from IXL, Paws, activities, test taking, rankings, etc...we can get so wrapped up in the past or future thinking that we forget the moment.
Don't let the moment pass you by without enjoying it as it is...time flows on and we don't have the power to stop it, we just have the privilege of soaking it all in!
This weeks challenge: Take a walk around the hallway, get outside for a bit, and just enjoy a little time to yourself throughout the day.
Have a great rest of your Sunday and I will see you tomorrow!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of life..."
Unkown
Sincerely,
Tucker Tejkl
