Superintendent'sLetter August 25, 2020

Tuesday, August 25, 2020 Update

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and the Lebanon Community,

Although we have been planning throughout summer, today, our staff officially began the first day of the 2020-2021 school year with a teacher in-service day. We are grateful for all of the work done over the summer to plan for this fall and appreciate the ideas and suggestions to finalize plans prior to when students arrive on September 8th.

Fall 2020 School Bus Routes and Schedule

Our Transportation Department has finalized the new School Bus Routes and Schedule.

The bus schedule has been modified from its normal route to support the A/B model. It lists the bus number, the school-Elementary or High School/Middle School (HS/MS), then the Group either A or B. It also states if the route is a morning route, AM, or the after school route, PM. Each page lists the bus stops and the estimated pick-up and drop-off times.

A few important details:

  • Families need to complete the temperature check and the health screening for each student prior to leaving home. Principals will send information home about the app we will be using for Prek-12.
  • Students and adults should wear masks at the bus stop and physically distance six feet or more between families.
  • Students must wear a mask on the bus.
  • Each student will be assigned a seat on the bus. Family members will be assigned seats together.

Combined with other efforts, all of these small actions will help minimize the transmission of the virus.

We appreciate your patience with pick up and drop off times because it will take time to adjust to the new bus routes and schedule. If there are questions regarding the bus schedule, please contact Paula Harthan, at pharthan@sau88.net.

Thank you,

Dr. Joanne Roberts

COVID-19 Resources:

Upper Valley Strong

Upper Valley Strong is a group of organizations who come together in times of emergency to help our communities.

Under the UV Strong umbrella, over 20 agencies and community representatives work together to respond to urgent needs in our region. The organization was first launched in 2011 in response to Hurricane Irene. In March 2020 UV Strong was reactivated to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

UV Strong’s purpose is to connect people in need to services, coordinate resources, and share expertise. In response to COVID-19, UV Strong is focused on issues including child care, housing, support for seniors, food access, and transportation.

We are your neighbors helping neighbors. At our core, we support agencies you already know, such as the Upper Valley Haven, LISTEN, and many more. We know that by working together, we will achieve more than we ever could alone.
