Schoolhouse Driveline: Carline Program & Procedures
Butler always strives to achieve smooth dismissal procedures for our students, families, and staff! The system in place works well when EVERYONE follows the plans of the school. There is always a learning curve the first few days/week of school. Soon after, the efficiency of the system becomes optimal once everyone is familiar with the plan (Students/Staff/Families). Butler will again be using Schoolhouse Driveline assigning a specific number to each family. A placard will be provided to hang around the rearview mirror. Staff will enter this number into the system upon parent/guardian arrival to quickly identify and organize students to the flow of the carline. If you need more, please contact the main office.
IMPORTANT - Car Rider Arrival & Dismissal Reminders and MORE!
Arrival and Dismissal procedures are paramount in our operation during the two busiest times of our school day - especially Car Line Procedures. Speed Limit while on Butler Property is no more than 10 MPH and Cell Phones Away! Please be reminded:
ARRIVAL
- School Doors officially open at 8:45 AM.
- PLEASE have car-riders REMAIN in vehicles until staff is in place at 8:45 AM.
- Walkers will be assembling under the canopy by the front doors, but we request car-riders remain in vehicles so traffic is not moving while children are walking to school.
- We will have a crosswalk attendee supporting student walker arrival and traffic flow.
- Please keep your eyes open for student walkers and adhere to speed limit postings.
DISMISSAL
- Car Rider dismissal will again take place from our Gym Atrium Doors.
- A placard was provided to each new family on the first day - please make sure this is displayed around your rearview mirror when on property. Returning families, please use last year's #.
- IMPORTANT - Parents remain in vehicles at all times; a staff member will identify the Schoolhouse Driveline Family number to call the student(s) to meet the vehicle in our circle (See Details Above).
- Walkers will be released from Front or Back of the building once bus and car traffic has exited - usually around 4:00 pm. Parents meeting walkers in front by the corner or Ashley's Garden. Children are not to cross the roadways unattended for parents waiting in vehicles.
With the start of the new year, timing will continue to improve - new routines for students and personnel makes things a little slower the first few days. There is always a dramatic improvement in timing from day one to day two - Thank you, families! Soon, our dismissal procedures will be efficient and familiar - we just ask (kindly) for your understanding and patience.
Reminder: Elementary Specials Class Scheduling System
Central Bucks adopts a rotating specials schedule (Art, Library, Music, Physical Education, and QUEST). It follows a Day-1 through Day-5 schedule for a "better distribution" of scheduled special classes for all elementary students.
Tuesday, September 1st, the first day for students, will be Specials Day-1. The remainder of the days will follow the school calendar and are set for the year. If there happens to be a day cancelled (due to inclement weather, etc.), the district specials schedule will follow the predetermined day. Therefore, students, staff, and families know that each special class is assigned to one of the numbered days.
Days 1- Day 4 will begin during September 1st-4th followed by Day 5 on Tuesday, September 8th. Classroom teachers will be sure to communicate the schedule regularly, so children are prepared for each day's special.

ANNUAL STUDENT INFORMATION UPDATE - MUST COMPLETE by 9/30
Each year, all families are required to review and update information on their student(s) in our database. This annual update is critical for the dispensing of medication, reaching you in emergencies and urgent situations, and receiving important communications from CBSD and your school(s).
Updating your information is also required before you will be able to access student schedules and busing information when these details become available.
To complete this process, log in at www.cbsd.org/parentportal. Once signed in, select "More" from the menu then "Annual Student Information Update."
If you need help, you can contact parentportal@cbsd.org.
Thank you for completing this important process in advance. While the deadline is September 30, we hope you will update your information as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you and your students soon!
2026-27 Family Handbook Now Available, Please Read Closely
All CBSD families and students are encouraged to carefully review the 2026-27 Family Handbook now available on the district's website. The handbook includes sections on important topics such as equal opportunity protections; report cards; health, special education, and other services for students; regulations and student disciplinary procedures, including policies on smoking/vaping, drugs and alcohol, and threats; technology and cell phone usage; parental rights; Title IX procedures; and more. Thank you for your support in following district guidelines to maintain safe and caring schools.
Flexible Instructional Day (FID) Bags
During our Back to School Nights, Flexible Instructional Day (FID) Bags will be distributed to families to hold at home in the event we have school cancellation due to inclement weather days. Like last year, blue drawstring bags will be provided to keep at home (they will be collected at the end of the year) and will include the first 2-workbooks.
Please Note: Until the days are announced and scheduled, please do not write names on the bags. Likewise, do not write on the workbooks until they are ready to turn-in for credit. The booklets are grade-level specific and will begin starting the SECOND snow day of the year.
More information will be shared, but we wanted to be sure parents were aware of this plan in advance!

Families who are new to the program should register here.
As you complete registration for the 2026-27 school year, we encourage you to review the program's fee schedule and our Frequently Asked Questions, which explain how fees are determined and provide additional information about program operations, staffing, and student support.
If you have additional questions after reviewing the FAQs and the program’s parent handbook, please contact the Community School Office at 267-893-5702 ext. 5705 or childcare@cbsd.org. We look forward to welcoming all our new and returning families to the program in 2026-27.
2026-27 One-to-One Technology Fee and Digital Wellness Initiative
Families are encouraged to review important information about student devices, the district’s One-to-One (1:1) Device Program and new digital wellness resources.
Families of students entering grades four, seven, and 10, as well as students who are new to CBSD, must complete the 1:1 enrollment process before receiving a district device. This includes reviewing the 1:1 Handbook, completing the User Agreement and, when applicable, paying the $60 device usage fee through MyPaymentsPlus. Schools will share device distribution details directly with families.
This year, CBSD is also expanding its Digital Wellness Initiative, including increased access to Lightspeed tools that provide families with greater visibility into student web activity on district devices outside the school day as well as help the district better understand screen-time trends.
Visit the CBSD 1:1 Program webpage for device requirements, fees and additional information about the district’s student technology program.
Disciplinary Procedures and Responsibilities
All families and students are encouraged to review Board Policy 218: Student Discipline and the policy's attachment, which outlines disciplinary procedures and responsibilities in CBSD.

String Lessons are available to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.
Band Lessons are available to 4th and 5th graders only.
