I am thrilled to send this communicaiton and to welcome you to the 2025-26 school year! Please take a look at the Principal Welcome Letter that will provide you with opening of school information. You should have access to your child's teacher assignments and bus information by Friday, August 22 at 4:00 pm via Infinite Campus.

The Elementary Student Handbook has been updated for the 2025-26 school year. We ask that all Parents/Guardians review the updates.

We hope to see many of you during our Jitter's Away event on Thursday, August 28 from 2:00-3:00. This event is open to all students, not just our new students. Additional parking is available on the gravel lot directly across from our school on Fort Washington Avenue.

We look forward to seeing all of our Chipmunks on Tuesday, September 2.

Hello, Maple Glen! Mr. Laird here, and I am thrilled to join the amazing Chipmunk community as your new Assistant Principal. I am excited to partner with our dedicated staff, students, and families to make this school year a positive and successful one for everyone. For seven years, I served many roles at our neighboring Jarrettown Elementary School, creating a welcoming environment where every child felt supported and inspired to learn. I look forward to meeting all of you, supporting your family, and sharing in the wonderful year ahead! Enjoy the remaining days of Summer and see you soon.

Welcome back to school, Chipmunks! Friendly reminder that all immunization records are due BEFORE the first day of school, and physical exams are due for kindergarten students and all new students regardless of grade. Dental exams are due for kindergarten students, students in 3rd grade, and all new students regardless of grade. Please take a look at the following slide presentation, it might answer some questions about the school year including what to do if your child requires medication in school. I've missed my Chipmunks and can't wait to meet all of my new kiddos!

Hello Parents!

We hope you had an awesome summer! We are looking forward to another year of fun events for you and your students. Like last year, PTO news will be shared in Mr. Perez’s weekly Chipmunk Chats. That’s where you’ll find important information, opportunities to help, and event dates.

Information will be sent out at the start of the year on how to register for the student directory,

pay PTO dues and class party money, and more.

Now is the time to make sure your clearances are current and submitted to the district. If you

plan on visiting the school or participating in any events, you must have them submitted and

cleared prior to the event.

Here’s where we need your help! Our Board of Directors is smaller than normal this year. To be

able to keep hosting all your favorite events, we are implementing a few different committees to

assist in facilitating our larger events. First up, the Donut Committee. We are looking for 2-4

individuals who are able and willing to help out behind the scenes for the Fall (October 7 and 8)

and Spring (April 14 and 15) Donut Days. If you are interested in learning more, please reach

Student Teacher Assignments/Schedules: A reminder that student teacher assignments and schedules will be posted to Infinite Campus on Friday, August 22 @ 4:00PM. Families are encouraged to login in advance to ensure you can access.

This summer brought significant improvements to Maple Glen! A brand-new roof was installed—right in the middle of some of the hottest days of the season. We are also excited to welcome back the MCIU Pre-K/Head Start program to our building. The program was previously housed at Maple Glen before moving to UDHS, and we’re thrilled to have it return. None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our custodial, maintenance, and grounds crews across UD. We truly appreciate their efforts in preparing our building for a great school year!
