Tambark Creek Elementary Principal Newsletter
From the Principal’s Desk – September 2026
Dear Tambark Creek Families,
Welcome to a brand-new school year! It is with great excitement that I welcome each of you back to school for what promises to be a fantastic year filled with learning, growth, friendship, and memorable experiences. Our staff has been working hard to prepare engaging classrooms and meaningful opportunities for every student to succeed.
We are looking forward to partnering with you throughout the year as we support our students academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we can make this an outstanding school year for all children.
In addition to the wonderful learning happening in our classrooms, we are excited for the many special events our PTSA will host throughout the year. These events help build a strong school community and create lasting memories for our students and families.
Communication
All school communication will be sent through ParentSquare. Please ensure your contact information is current and up to date, so you don't miss important school announcements, event information, emergency notifications, or classroom updates.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
The safety of our students is our highest priority. Please carefully follow the procedures below to help ensure a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal process.
Rolling Drop-Off and Pick-Up (Front of the Building)
- Use the front drive-through loop for all student drop-offs and pick-ups.
- Pull all the way forward to where adults in safety vests are stationed. Staff members will assist students with car doors.
- Do not drop off your child in any other location, including near the forest area or on the sidewalk.
Kindergarten Families
- If you are driving your child to school, please park and walk your child to the Kindergarten Corral located in front of the school.
- Buses will drop off and pick up Kindergarten students at the bus loop on the east side of the school.
- Kindergarten students will be escorted by adults to the Kindergarten Corral.
Morning Line-Up
- All students will line up in the undercover area each morning except Kindergarteners.
- Safety cones and signs will clearly identify each teacher's classroom line.
Bell Times and Late Arrival
- First bell: 9:10 AM
Gates by the bus loop will be locked at this time. - Final bell: 9:15 AM
All students should be in their classrooms and ready to learn. - Students arriving after 9:10 AM must be brought to the front office and signed in by an adult.
Safety Reminders
- Do not drop off or pick up students in the bus lane, next to the playground fence, or in the fire lane.
- Students who walk to school should enter from 174th Street and proceed along the sidewalk to the undercover area.
- Parents and guardians walking students to school are asked to avoid standing near gates or buses, as this can limit visibility and create delays. If you would like to visit with other families, please gather in the library area near the large rocks.
- Please remember that the speed limit around school property is 10 MPH.
Join and Support Our PTSA
Our PTSA plays an important role in supporting students, staff, and school programs. We encourage all families to become members and get involved!
We are currently seeking PTSA volunteers to help with upcoming events and activities throughout the year. Whether you have a few hours to give or can help occasionally, your support makes a tremendous difference.
Please visit our school website and use the PTSA QR code to join today. We would love to have every family represented in our PTSA community.

Classroom Information
Teachers will be sending home their daily classroom schedules if they have not already done so. These schedules will help families stay informed about the learning and routines taking place each day.
Thank you for your partnership, support, and commitment to our school community. We are excited to begin this journey together and look forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and success for every student.
Warmly,
Mrs. O'Connor-Weaver

From Specialists
🏃🏻♀️PE: Just a reminder that your student will need to make sure to wear appropriate shoes on their P.E. Day. This includes tennis shoes, running shoes, sport-type cross trainers. No black soles that can mark up the gym floor (most black soled running shoes won't—but test them out!). Please no Crocs, boots or dress shoes. Many students bring appropriate shoes to change into if they need to wear something else to school on their P.E. Day.
Also, please make sure if wearing a skirt or dress that your student is wearing leggings or shorts underneath. Thank you! Excited to get moving! Ms. Sparks

Attendance!
Dear TCE Families,
We look forward to seeing all our Mountain Lion's faces in school each day. With that being said, every minute of school time is valuable for your student's educational and social growth.
- Please make sure your kids are on time to line up with their class no later than 9:05 AM. Important social emotional and transitioning time occurs in the first few minutes of the day.
- Please schedule travel during school breaks. Travel should not occur on days when school is in session.
- Dismissal is 3:30 PM (2:15 on Fridays). Please be on time for pick-up, as there is no supervision after this time.
- You can easily update daily attendance reasoning on the ParentVue app!
Why regular, on-time attendance is important:
1. Regular attendance allows children to benefit from participating in quality early education.
2. A habit of attendance IS a school readiness skill.
3. Good attendance reflects strong parent engagement.
