SUPERINTENDENT & PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear GLTS Families,

The 2025-2026 school year is off to a wonderful start. After a beautiful stretch of late summer weather, the crisp feeling of fall is now in the air. GLTS is once again alive with the energy of our students, with activities and athletic events happening throughout the day and into the evening.

Thank you to the many families who joined us for Back to School Night this past Thursday, September 18th. Our staff enjoyed meeting all of you and sharing what we hope to accomplish this year with your students. We have also successfully completed our fall MAP Growth testing in both reading and math. For our 9th and 10th grade families, please remember these results may inform minor schedule adjustments to provide the right support or enrichment. Any potential change would be a simple switch between classes within the same period. We will share your child's results and explain what they mean for their learning journey later this fall.

Please see the remainder of our newsletter below.

PowerSchool Parent Portal & Enrollment Verification PowerSchool Parent Portal & Enrollment Verification

On Thursday, September 11, an email with login instructions for the PowerSchool Parent Portal was sent from Isobel Gioia (igioia@glts.net). If you have not yet set up your account, please search for that email. You may need to check your junk or spam folder.

The PowerSchool Parent Portal is the only way to view your student’s current grades, attendance, and other important information. The email contains the link, Access ID, and Access Password needed to securely connect your account to your student.

Please create your account soon, as all teachers will provide Quarter 1 Progress Updates in PowerSchool by Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Families with students in grades 10, 11, and 12 also received a link to complete the Enrollment Verification process. This allows you to confirm your contact information and review required annual sign-offs.

We kindly ask all families who have not yet done so to complete these steps as soon as possible. Accurate information is essential for home and school communication. If you cannot find the email or need assistance, please contact our Student Information Office.

Look what’s happening in Career & Technical Education (CTE) Look what’s happening in Career & Technical Education (CTE)

Get ready to smile! O'Connor's Studios will be at GLTS on Tuesday, September 9, and Thursday, September 11, to take student photos.

Our Environmental Science exploratory students have the opportunity to step out of the classroom and into the field for a hands-on learning experience at the river. Equipped with sampling tools, they collected water to test their own hypotheses about water quality and environmental health. This trip allows students to apply scientific methods in a real-world setting while deepening their understanding of ecosystems, conservation, and the importance of environmental stewardship. This experience not only enhances their skills in observation and analysis but also sparks meaningful discussions about protecting natural resources in our community.
