Spring Break Ahead & Redistricting Update
Spring break starts Friday after school, and whether your plans include travel or a little extra rest at home, we hope it’s a great time to recharge.
Before the break begins, the Dublin City Schools Board of Education met on March 23 to review new community feedback and survey data related to high school redistricting—an important step in the process.
During the meeting, the Board heard from Planning NEXT and Fallon Research, who have been working with the District to gather input from students, families, staff, and the broader community. Their findings help paint a clearer picture of what matters most to stakeholders as Dublin City Schools continues to grow.
Across both focus groups and surveys, a few themes stood out: the importance of planning for future enrollment, minimizing disruption for students, and ensuring thoughtful, long-term decisions. At the same time, the data reflects a range of perspectives, reinforcing that this is a complex process with no one-size-fits-all solution.
This work is part of Phase 1: Criteria Development and Community Input, where the Board is focused on listening, learning, and identifying the factors that will guide future boundary decisions. No decisions have been made, and additional opportunities for community feedback are still ahead.
If you find a quiet moment over spring break—whether you’re beachside, mountainside, or right at home—it’s a great time to catch up and stay in the know using the links below! Presentation materials, data and resources can be found on the Redistricting Hub, while the meeting recap and recording are linked on DCS Today.

Community Coffee & Conversations are Back!
Dublin City Schools Superintendent Dr. John Marschhausen is bringing back Community Coffee & Conversations, an opportunity to connect in a relaxed, informal setting and talk about what’s happening across Dublin City Schools. Join Dr. Marschhausen on Wednesday, April 8 at 9:30 a.m. at the Dublin Library.
These conversations are designed to create space for open dialogue, questions, and shared understanding. Whether you’re looking for updates, have something on your mind, or simply want to listen and learn, all are welcome.
This is a casual, bring-your-own-coffee (BYOC) event. Please note that space is limited based on room capacity, so we appreciate your understanding as we welcome as many community members as possible. We hope to see you there.
SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT | Riverside Elementary School
Riverside Elementary recently transformed its halls into a vibrant art gallery, celebrating the creativity and talent of its student artists during the annual Riverside Art Show.
Families, staff and community members were invited to explore an impressive collection of student artwork, showcasing a wide range of styles, techniques and mediums. From colorful paintings and detailed drawings to imaginative mixed-media pieces, each display reflected the unique perspectives and hard work of Riverside students.
The event not only highlighted students’ artistic skills, but also their confidence and pride as they shared their creations with others. Smiles filled the room as young artists eagerly pointed out their work to family members and friends.
The Riverside Art Show is a wonderful reminder of the importance of arts education and the role it plays in inspiring creativity, self-expression and joy in learning.
SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT | Coffman High School
Dublin Coffman High School students are making a meaningful impact—one book at a time. Led by a dedicated team of student volunteers, the Coffman Library Book Drive continues to grow in both reach and impact. Student leaders spent months organizing, collecting, sorting and packing thousands of books, all with a shared goal: promoting literacy and expanding access to reading for children in need.
With the support of advisors Mrs. Melanie Hitsman, Mrs. Kate Hastings and Mr. David Woodmansee, this year’s drive collected nearly 2,500 new and gently used K–6 books. Donations will benefit 2nd & 7 and the Columbus Book Bank, helping provide books to children across the community through monthly giveaways and online requests.
Through their partnership with 2nd & 7 and participation in the organization’s “huddle,” Coffman students are helping foster a culture of reading while reinforcing the power of service. Their efforts reflect a simple but powerful mission: changing lives, one book at a time.
VIDEO SPOTLIGHT | Wyandot Students Interview City Officials
Students from Wyandot Elementary stepped into the role of reporters during the City of Dublin’s State of the City. As part of the experience, they interviewed City of Dublin officials and staff members, asking thoughtful questions and learning more about how local government serves the community.
Watch the video to see these young interviewers in action as they connect with city leaders and explore how decisions are made in their city.

DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENTS
Celebrating Students Who Choose the Military Pathway
Dublin City Schools is proud to recognize and celebrate graduating students who choose to serve our country through a military pathway after high school. Families of seniors who plan to pursue direct enlistment, participate in ROTC in college, or attend one of the United States service academies are asked to notify the district so we can recognize their commitment and share important details about an upcoming celebration.
Each year, Dublin City Schools honors these students during a Military Commitment Ceremony, which will take place May 14 at 4:00 p.m. at Emerald Campus. This special event celebrates graduates who have chosen a path of service and allows us to recognize their dedication alongside family, friends and school staff.
If your graduating student is planning to pursue a military pathway, please notify Tawnya Ewert by email at ewert_tawnya@dublinschools.net so we can share additional information about the ceremony. If you have any questions or your student needs support navigating the military pathway options, please contact Pathways counselor Kevin Patton at patton_kevin@dublinschools.net.
