Dear Discovery Families,

As we prepare to embark on week five of our 25-26 School year journey together, I want to remind us all of the importance to remain united in our efforts to serve our children. Home and School both have important parts to play in this endeavor. As a school, we must strive to provide a welcoming and safe place appropriate for learning. As parents, you must ensure that your child(ren) get to school on time, in uniform and are mentally and emotionally prepared to do their best. Let us continue to get better and better with our respective duties as Home and School. We can never give up on striving to do this because our children are that important.

While walking the halls, I stumbled upon this quiet but telling moment. Mr. Earle was speaking with these scholars who were making bad choices. He didn’t raise his voice or show frustration; instead, he spoke with a steady firmness, but his tone showed care. The scholars began to settle in as he reminded them not just of expectations, but of his belief in them to do them. Way to go Mr. Earle.

Guiding and directing

• Regular and in time attendance is absolutely vital to the success of your child(ren)
• Black footwear, clear book bags and tucked in shirts are required to be considered in uniform.
• In adherence to our health and wellness policy, NO birthday parties in classrooms.
• The school will recognize birthdays during morning announcements and monthly assemblies.
• Any fighting in school will result in consequences from the school, there will be no exceptions.
