Notes from the Coulston Office May 5 , 2025

Elementary Track Meet

The Elementary Track Meet will take place on Monday, May 5th at the Shelbyville High School Track and Field. The meet will begin at 5:00 PM, and parking will be available in the designated lot. We’re excited to cheer on our Coulston boys and girls track and field team and wish them the best of luck! A big thank you to our coaches, Mrs. Eads and Mrs. Deaton, for their hard work and dedication!

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week-May 5-9

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re excited at Coulston to celebrate the incredible educators who work so hard to support, teach, and care for our students every day. This is a great opportunity to show our teachers how much we value and appreciate all that they do.

We encourage families to participate in simple ways throughout the week, whether it's a thank-you note, a small treat, a handmade card, or just kind words of appreciation. Every gesture, big or small, makes a difference!

ILEARN TESTING BEGINS

ILEARN testing is nearly complete! While a few grade levels still have some make-up tests to finish, the majority of testing is done. We truly appreciate your support during this time. Once we receive the official reports, we will share results with families. Please know that our students and staff have worked incredibly hard all year, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished!

5th Grade Recognition

It’s that time of year—time to celebrate our amazing 5th grade students! We will be honoring our 5th graders on Tuesday, May 20th at 8:30 AM in the Coulston Gymnasium. Doors will open at 8:00 AM, and families may enter through the main entrance. We’re looking forward to a special morning of celebration and recognition. We hope to see you there!

Kindergarten Graduation Celebration 2025

We are so excited to celebrate our Kindergarten students as they take their next big step! Join us for Kindergarten Graduation on Friday, May 16th at 8:30 AM in the Coulston Gymnasium. Doors will open at 8:00 AM. A special reception will follow the ceremony in the Kindergarten classrooms. We can't wait to celebrate this milestone with our Coulsotn students and their families!

Coulston Elementary Awards Day 2025

You're Invited to Awards Day 2025! We hope you can join us as we celebrate our amazing students at Awards Day 2025, held in the Coulston Gymnasium. This special event will recognize the hard work and accomplishments of our 1st through 4th grade students. Our students have worked hard all year, and we’re excited to honor their growth, effort, and achievements. We look forward to seeing you there!

No Toys REMINDER

This is a friendly reminder that students should not bring toys or personal items from home to school. This includes items such as Pokémon cards, technology, balls, and similar items. These are not permitted on the bus or at school. Keeping these items at home helps prevent distractions in the classroom and reduces the chance of conflicts between students. Thank you for your help in supporting this reminder!

Reporting Student Absences:

If your child is absent from school, please call the office at 317-398-3185. You can report your child’s absence on the attendance line. When reporting an absence, please be sure to include your child's name, grade, teacher, and the reason the student is absent. Please try to have your child’s absence reported by 9:00. Thanks for your help.
