News & Updates
Hello CELC & MVLA Families,
I hope you enjoyed your weekend. As usual, I spent most of my time watching my kid play sports. Volleyball on Saturday morning, and softball on Saturday and Sunday :). I am so thankful that the families that we play with are amazing and that we truly enjoy being around them so much!
CELC is looking forward to celebrating National Read Across America this week. Dr. Seuss's birthday is March 2nd. The classrooms will enjoy theme-based activities all week. Enjoy our optional dress up days if you would like:
Monday: Oh the Places You'll Go- wear college gear and career outfit
Tuesday: Many Color Days-wear as many colors as you can
Wednesday:Cat in the Hat Day-wear red, white and black
Thursday: I Can Read with My Eyes Shut- wear a shirt you can read
Friday: Fox in Socks- wear crazy socks
The District continues to be guided by California Department of Public Health and our experiences from last year. Thank you for your support while we continue to navigate the 2021-22 school year. Stay tuned for California's mask mandate updates that are due to be announced on February 28th.
Important Updates and Information:
- Mark your calendars for CELC's Open House on March 31st.
- Call Mary Barkley, our Office Clerk, if you have any questions about contract work. Completing work clears your child's attendance and keeps them caught up.
- The PTA is busy organizing the Spring Fling that is scheduled for April 29th. If you are interested in helping, please contact the Stephanie Green at 619-659-8250.
- Part 1 of Kindergarten registration for the 2022-23 school year is open. Please contact the office for information.
- Please make sure that you send your student to school with a Chromebook (fully charged), mask and a water bottle daily.
- As a reminder, CELC official start time is 9:05 am. Students are not considered late until 9:06 am. Please check into the office for a late slip to ensure that your child is not marked absent.
- Our next district-wide kindness dress up day is March 2nd. "Hats off to Kind People"- wear your favorite hat to school along with red, white and black for Read Across America.
- Students can be dropped off at the curb in the morning as long as there is a staff member present and it is before 9:05 am. Late students must be checked in at the office.
We will keep you updated as things change or additional information comes up. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Green at sgreen@alpineschools.net or 619-659-8250.
Please stay updated and informed on what is going on by checking our district and site web pages, reading the electronic weekly newsletter, checking your email, and scanning our social media pages. Our staff is also here to help if you have any questions.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
