Strategic Planning: Next steps with the Middle School
We have established a district core team made up of administrators, directors, and additional key staff members who will begin meeting regularly with our design and construction management teams. This group will serve as a central point of coordination to ensure clarity, alignment, and thoughtful decision-making throughout the process.
As the project progresses, we will intentionally bring additional stakeholders into the conversation to gather feedback, strengthen communication, and ensure broad representation across our district. Maintaining transparency and shared ownership will remain a priority every step of the way.
It truly is an exciting time to be a Trojan as we work together to shape the future of our district!
ISASP Testing
Each April, students in grades 3–11 participate in the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP). ISASP is Iowa’s annual assessment designed to measure student learning in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science (science is assessed in grades 5, 8, and 10).
These assessments align to the Iowa Department of Education Iowa Academic Standards and provide valuable information about how well students are mastering grade-level expectations. Results help guide instructional decisions, support continuous improvement efforts, and identify areas of strength and growth at the student, classroom, building, and district levels. While ISASP is just one measure of student learning, it plays an important role in helping us ensure every student is progressing and receiving the support they need.
Building-level details, including testing schedules and logistics, will be shared in the coming weeks

Superintendent's Message
Continuous Improvement
As we move into March, I want to take a moment to reaffirm something that guides our work each day. This would be our commitment to continuous improvement. We truly believe growth is not a destination but an ongoing process. We are continually reviewing student learning data, reflecting on our instructional practices, strengthening systems, and seeking feedback so we can better serve every student, each and every day.
Continuous improvement means asking hard questions, celebrating progress, learning from challenges, and staying focused on what matters most: ensuring every student feels a sense of belonging and is prepared for success. Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support. We are grateful to work alongside you in supporting our students and the Fairfield community.
