⚡ Electrical Students Visit Power Solutions ⚡
Electrical students had a very informative visit to Power Solutions for an engaging field trip focused on careers in the electrical industry. During the visit, students toured the company’s fabrication shop, where they saw firsthand how materials and systems are prepared for real-world projects.
Representatives from Local Union 24 and Local Union 26 shared information about apprenticeship opportunities, training programs, and the many pathways available within the electrical trade. The experience gave students valuable insight into the industry and helped connect classroom learning to future career opportunities in electrical and construction trades.
Congratulations to Angelica Godoy, Maebree Knight, Sarah Michael, Megan Priest, Taylor Shelton, Sofia Sotela, and Khloe Toms the Women in Trades Seniors!
💓💓 PROGRAM PULSE 💓💓
The Dental Assisting classroom recently welcomed special visitors from leading dental supply companies, Scott Miller from Henry Schein Dental and Bobby Hoffman from Dentsply Sirona, who provided students with an exciting hands-on demonstration of digital scanning and crown fabrication technology.
Students learned how the CEREC system creates crowns and other permanent restorations in as little as five minutes using advanced milling technology. This experience introduced students to the same innovative equipment and techniques they may encounter during internships and future careers in the dental field.
During the demonstration, students Courtney Chaffman and Paige Fredericks had the opportunity to complete a digital scan as part of the interactive presentation.
The session provided valuable insight into the future of dentistry and gave our future dental assistants an exciting glimpse into modern dental technology.
Additionally, Our PM class added messages & posed in front of the Senior send off mirror.
The Teacher Academy of Maryland recently attended the Maryland Educator Rising Conference hosted by Towson University. Students participated in engaging sessions focused on career pathways in education, creating inclusive classrooms, and a wide range of topics impacting today’s educators. With more than 25 sessions to choose from and over 300 attendees, students gained valuable insights into the teaching profession while connecting with future educators from across the state.
We are also excited to announce that the Teacher Academy of Maryland has been awarded a grant through the Maryland Teacher Pathway Project for the 2026–2027 school year to become an official Educators Rising chapter—the only MSDE-recognized Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) dedicated exclusively to careers in education.
This exciting opportunity will provide our students with even more experiences beyond the classroom to explore, develop, and prepare for successful careers in education.
