The RHE Rattler
July 29, 2024

From Principal Page
Dear Rattler Families,
Thank you for an amazing Trunk or Treat and class pumpkin voting! We loved seeing our Rattler community come together for these fun events. Your participation and support make RHE such a special place!
We have another exciting week ahead!
Red Ribbon Week: This week, we are celebrating Red Ribbon Week! We will wrap up the festivities on Thursday with our annual Costume Parade!
Costume Parade – Thursday at 7:45 AM: Students should arrive at school wearing their costumes, and the parade will begin promptly at 7:45 AM. Families are invited to watch from the front of the school. We will have cones set up to designate where families should line up. There is no need to check in at the front office, as families will remain outside the building. We can't wait to see all of our Rattlers dressed up!
Student Holidays: Please remember that students will not have school on Friday, October 30, or Monday, November 2, due to staff professional development days. Enjoy the long weekend!
Lost and Found: Our lost and found is overflowing! We have quite a collection of jackets, water bottles, and other items. Please encourage your child to check for any missing belongings. Unclaimed items will be donated soon.
Friendly Reminder – Toys at School: We have noticed an increase in students bringing toys to school. Please help us by reminding your child to leave toys and personal play items at home. We appreciate your partnership in keeping our students focused on learning and minimizing distractions throughout the school day.
Arrival Drop Off-Please do not drop students off in the staff parking lots. We need our Rattlers and staff members to be able to enter the building safely. Please use the appropriate drop off areas that have crossing guards.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for making Rough Hollow Elementary such an incredible place to learn and grow!

SLAC
In response to Senate Bill 13, the Board of Trustees established the Lake Travis ISD School Library Advisory Council (SLAC) to provide a collaborative and transparent process for reviewing library materials. SLAC works with librarians and district staff to recommend library materials for procurement, including donated titles, and to review material challenges before making recommendations to the Board. Proposed materials are available for public review and feedback at least 30 days before Board consideration. Visit the SLAC webpage to review proposed titles, provide feedback, or access the Library Materials Challenge Form. For questions, contact Tasha Barker at watersbarkert@ltisdschools.org or 512-533-6036.
