SILVER FOXNEWSFebruary 28th , 2025

Congratulations! Congratulations!

Congratulations to Mrs. Stephanie Graham our TOMS Staff Member of the Week!

Mrs. Graham is our Data Quality/Attendance Clerk and this is her 8th year at TOMS.

My favorite memory of middle school was lunchtime and recess -- they were the best part of the day. It was a break from listening to the teachers all day and

having a chance to hang out with your besties.

My advice to my Middle School self would be... Kids can be mean at times. Always be kind to people no matter what. You never know what people are going through.

Our amazing AP, Danielle Hamilton, kicked off the week with a special treat – an original poem she wrote back in middle school! She also invited all students interested in sharing their own poetry to come forward during the morning announcements this week. Whether it was an original creation or a favorite from a beloved poet, we were excited to see the creativity flow!

Huge shoutout to Eli, Kaleb, and Alexa for their amazing contributions! Let’s give them all a round of snaps for their talent!

On Thursday, the morning’s selections were nothing short of incredible! A huge shoutout to our students Khloe, Angelina, Anthony, Sean, Veronica and Phoenix for their amazing contributions!

"We wrapped up the week with a little more Poetry for Breakfast during announcements! Our students have truly blown us away with their heartfelt choices and original works. Friday's poetry crew included Andrew, Anthony, Michael, Greyson, and Arianna! 🌟📚 #PoetryForBreakfast #StudentCreativity #ProudMoments"

Our TOMS 6th graders had an absolute blast at the Winter Wonderland Dance! It was an afternoon filled with awesome singing, dancing, and unforgettable memories! This year’s dance had the BEST turnout yet! A massive thank you to Ashley Klopfer, the TOMS Student Council Association, and our amazing TOMS staff for making it such a magical night for our 6th grade crew!

Exciting News for Our TOMS Students!

We are thrilled to announce that the following students have been participating in the All County Orchestra Event at Myrtle Beach High School at Myrtle Beach High School! After two days of hard work and dedication, they will culminate their efforts with a concert Friday evening at 6:00 PM, which is open to the public! Please join us in congratulating Orchestra Director Mr. Chad Hammer and all of our TOMS Students for this incredible achievement!

Mr. Campman's Exploring World Language Classes have officially kicked off their Tastes Around the World program with this week's Fiesta! The 6th grade discovery classes had a blast sampling a variety of delicious dishes with a Spanish flair! A huge thank you to all the families who generously donated items to help make this fiesta a success.

#WorldLanguages #FiestaFun #TastesAroundTheWorld #ThankYou #CommunitySupport

Ms. Hickey's class had the wonderful opportunity to write letters to active-duty soldiers on Veteran’s Day, offering them words of encouragement during their deployment.

Recently, SPC Corbin Saul from the 795 Military Police Battalion came to thank the students for their heartfelt letters and to answer any questions they had about military life. To make it even more special, SPC Saul brought letters back from some of the soldiers who received the students' letters, responding to their questions as well!

This experience provided our students with a deeper understanding of how the military works, potential career paths within it, and inspired them to think beyond college when considering their future career opportunities. Thank you to SPC Saul for taking the time to connect with our students! #VeteransDay #MilitaryAppreciation #FutureLeaders #ThankYou

What a fantastic weekend of music making at the 2025 SC All State Orchestra Event! These two members of the TOMS Orchestra, and several others from Horry County Schools, represented their schools and our district with great pride and skill! Special shout out to our Orchestra Director Mr. Chad Hammer, for his hard work in helping his students achieve this goal!

Hello TOMS 7th Grade Parents/Guardians,

It's hard to believe that the school year is already more than halfway over! We wanted to take a minute to check-in and to share some important information about your student's transition to 8th grade. Below, you will find a 'Goal Setting' Presentation that was developed to help students, and their parents/guardians navigate the middle school years and begin to plan for the future. Students will have the opportunity to watch the presentation in school but may also benefit from watching it again with a parent/guardian.

Goal Setting Presentation

7th Grade students will also be submitting their requests for their 8th grade discovery courses. Students will view the following PowerPoint Presentation in TOMS Time prior to requesting their discovery courses. Please take a minute to review this presentation and talk to your student about their discovery course requests for 8th grade.

Rising 8th Grade Discovery Request Presentation

* Students who are interested in applying for Pro Team and Yearbook for the 25-26 school year should fill out this interest form. Applications will come out later this spring- and if selected that class will take the spot of their 1st choice.

After watching the 'Goal Setting Presentation' and talking with your student about their discovery course requests for 8th grade, please call or email the assigned school counselor if you would like to schedule a meeting to discuss questions you may have about your student's transition to 8th grade and future plans.

Thank you,
