🍎School Dismissal Manager🍎
School Dismissal Manager
Parents, you will receive an email from School Dismissal Manager by Friday, August 7th. Once you receive the email, you will need to set up your account and choose your child's dismissal method.
School Dismissal Manager is how SIES keeps track of students' daily dismissal methods. You will log on to set your child's default dismissal (how they are going home most days) and set any daily dismissal exceptions. Please solely use this platform to change dismissal; do not call the office or email the teacher with dismissal changes.
The easy-to-use interface will allow you to make changes in advance or for the current day by creating “exceptions”. When creating an exception for the current day, note that the cut-off time on regular days is 1:15, and on early release days is 11:15. After the cut-off time you will need to call the school office to make any changes to the current day, please only use this option for emergencies.
Here are a few Fast Facts that you will need to know to get started:
1. School Dismissal Manager App
The app is compatible with Android and Apple devices and can be found in the respective app stores.
2. First Login
Check your child's default dismissal (how your child goes home most days) and make sure it is set correctly. Bus riders, please carefully check that the bus stop listed is correct for your child, as they may have changed when we updated this year's routes. If changes are needed, select the green Set/View Default button above the calendar, or if using the SDM app, select Default Dismissal from the menu at the top left, to set the correct dismissal.
3. FastLane Parent Check-in Method
a. QR Code: Car pick-up occurs with a self-check-in method that utilizes a QR code. Once you scan the code using your phone, your child(ren) will be notified that you have arrived, allowing them to proceed to the Carline. The most effective way to use the QR Code is to use the School Dismissal Manager App. Please ensure you have allowed the app access to your camera before using the QR code check-in. Starting at 2:00 on school days, the "Click to Check-In Via QR Code" button will appear on your app. You will click the blue "Click to Check-In Via QR Code" button on the app and follow the on-screen directions. You may also use your phone's camera app to scan the code, but this method requires an additional login. Please don't scan the QR Code until you have arrived on campus.
b. Parent PIN: If you are unable to use the app, you may also check in using your parent PIN number. There will be a staff member outside at the car rider line to who you can give your PIN number and they can call the student down that way. Your PIN number may be accessed on the home screen of your account by pressing the eye symbol next to the Parent Pin.
4. The Parent Dashboard always displays the current and the following week. Days when there is no school or there is an early dismissal will be marked. To opt in for text messages, click Preferences in the top menu to add your mobile number.
5. Recurring Dismissal Exceptions: If your child has a temporary, recurring dismissal exception, click the Recurring Dismissal Instructions located at the top of the screen and fill out the details as required. DO NOT use the Recurring Dismissal feature to put in your child's ''default'' dismissal.
6. Carpools: If your child is part of a carpool or going home with a friend, you will need to set up a carline pick-up. Once the correct dismissal option is selected, you will be asked a series of questions. In the “PARENT OF” field, search for the parent driver by their student’s first or last name and select the parent who will be picking up. You may use the individual calendar days or the Recurring Dismissal Instruction feature to assign your child(ren) to the parent driver who is picking up on certain days.
7. FAQs: As you begin to use School Dismissal Manager, if you have questions, check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) link found in the Parent login area at the top of the SDM homepage or click on Help in your top menu. Here, you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions. If your question remains unanswered after checking here, please contact Erin Wiseman at erin_wiseman@charleston.k12.sc.us.
***Please note that School Dismissal Manager information comes directly from PowerSchool. If there has been a change in class placement or parent contact information, it will be corrected in School Dismissal Manager once that change is reflected in PowerSchool.***
If you need further assistance, contact Erin Wiseman at erin_wiseman@charleston.k12.sc.us. For reasons of safety and security, SDM staff do not respond to parent requests or emails and will redirect any parent callers to the school.
Thank you for using this tool to help us keep the dismissal process safe and orderly for all our students and staff. Please contact Erin Wiseman if you have any questions or concerns.

Bus 202
Please be patient with bus routes the first few weeks of school. It often takes a few weeks for the routes to run smoothly and on schedule. Please note that the Bus Route listed below is current as of July 17th and can change. The most current stops are listed on The Bus Stop Look Up Tool.
**New CD, Kindergarten and 1st Grade Red Tag System for Bus Riders**
Please see importnat update from CCSD Transportation:
For the safety of our youngest students, Charleston County School District requires all
CD, Kindergarten and 1st grade bus riders to have a unique tag number that must match
with a parent or guardian’s tag number at the designated bus stop. Students in these
grade levels will not be allowed to get off the bus if a parent/guardian or sibling
designee is not present at the bus stop with the matching tag number.
Please see important details about this safety procedure below:
● CD, Kindergarten, and 1st grade bus riders will have a tag with a number attached
to their backpack.
● Parents/guardians will receive (4) parent tags. Any adult designated by the parent
will need a tag in order to receive the child.
● Parents/guardians will be required to show the parent tag at the bus stop (must
be visible to the bus driver).
● 2nd - 5th grade siblings may serve as the designee for CD, Kindergarten, and 1st
grade students. A Red Tag Sibling Permission Form must be completed by the
parent/guardian prior. These older siblings must also have a tag with the
matching number on their backpack.
● Students who do not have a parent/guardian or sibling designee at the bus stop
with their matching tag number will be returned to their home-based elementary
school.
● If a student is returned to school, the parent/guardian will be contacted and
required to pick up their student from school. Law enforcement may be
contacted if the parent/guardian cannot be reached within a reasonable amount
of time.
**You can pick up your Red Tags from your classroom teacher at Meet the Teacher, or they will be sent home with your child on the first day of school.**
