BigFuture LIVE: Find Their Fit

Every parent wants their teen to find and own a future that fits who they actually are.

With so much information out there it can be hard for teens and parents to know where to start. There are test scores to interpret, scholarships and financial aid to find, college lists to build, and a teen who may not know yet what they want.

BigFuture Live: Find Their Fit is a free event series designed to help parents do one thing: support their teen in finding the post-secondary path that’s right for them. The series starts on Sept. 16th and includes the following topics:

  • Wednesday, 09/16/2026 - Help Your Teen Build Skills That Matter Most
  • Tuesday, 09/29/2026 - Help Your Teen Find Their College Fit with Jeff Selingo
  • Wednesday, 10/14/2026 - Help Your Teen Access More Money for College
  • Wednesday, 10/28/2026 - Help Your Teen Stay Confident and Healthy Through College Planning
  • Tuesday, 11/10/2026 - Help Your Teen Envision Their Future
  • Wednesday, 11/18/2026 - Help Your Rural Teen Find a Path That Fits Their Community and Goals

Attendance Matters: Every Day Counts! Attendance Matters: Every Day Counts!

Showing up matters. For high school students, regular attendance means more than simply being in the building—it means staying connected to learning, teachers, friends, and opportunities.

What does the latest research tell us?
Recent research continues to show a strong connection between regular attendance and academic success. A 2026 report from the University of Chicago Consortium found that students with higher attendance had stronger grades, test scores, and academic growth. The study also found that positive school climate and strong relationships can help improve attendance (Attendance Works).

Chronic absenteeism—generally defined as missing 10% or more of the school year (about 18 days)—remains a significant concern nationwide. The U.S. Department of Education reports that missing substantial amounts of school can affect academic progress, engagement, and student well-being (U.S. Department of Education).

Students: Every class counts. Being present gives you more chances to learn, participate, ask questions, and stay on track.

Parents & caregivers: Talk with your student about attendance, notice patterns of missed days, and reach out to the school when barriers such as transportation, health, work, or family responsibilities make attendance difficult. Schools can often help connect families with support.

The goal isn't perfect attendance….it's making every day possible and helping students stay connected.

Every day. Every class. Every opportunity. Attendance matters!

Get Involved with the Brooke Point Athletic Booster Club! Get Involved with the Brooke Point Athletic Booster Club!

You are invited to become part of the Brooke Point High School Athletic Booster Club and help us continue making a difference for our students and student-athletes! The Booster Club is about much more than cheering from the sidelines. We work throughout the year to support Brooke Point athletics, build school spirit, and provide resources that benefit our students. Whether your child plays a sport or simply loves being part of the Black-Hawk community, there is a place for you in the Booster Club!

How Can You Get Involved?

There are plenty of ways to help, and you don't have to make a huge time commitment to make a difference!

Black-Hawk Merchandise - We sell official Brooke Point shirts, hats, and other spirit wear throughout the year during school lunches and at home sporting events. Volunteers help us keep Black-Hawk pride visible all year long!

Muffin Cart - We bring snacks directly to students during the school day. It's a fun way to support the Booster Club while interacting with our students and school community.

Concessions - Volunteering for concessions is one of the easiest ways to help while meeting other parents and supporting our teams.

Membership - Most importantly, joining the Booster Club gives you an opportunity to connect with other parents, coaches, athletes, and members of the Brooke Point community while helping create a positive and spirited environment for our students.

The success of Brooke Point athletics isn't determined only by the talent and dedication of our athletes and coaches. It also depends on the strength and support of our Black-Hawk community.

Every volunteer, every hour, and every helping hand makes a difference.

Join Us!

We would love to have you become part of the Brooke Point Athletic Booster Club this year. Whether you can volunteer once, help at several events, or become involved throughout the year, your participation matters!
