Bronco Families,

We hope this newsletter finds you well, it's been an exciting start to the month here at Parkrose High School. First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our students for their hard work and dedication thus far. As we approach the midpoint of the semester, it's essential to reflect on the progress made and continue to strive for excellence. The upcoming mid-term grading period (April 19th) serves as a checkpoint to assess our academic growth and set new goals for the remainder of the term. We encourage students to stay focused, utilize available resources, and reach out for assistance if needed. Together, we can achieve great success!

For our beloved seniors, the countdown to graduation has officially begun! It's an emotional yet exhilarating time as we prepare to bid farewell to this remarkable group of students. Throughout their journey, they've exhibited resilience, leadership, and a commitment to excellence. As they embark on the next chapter of their lives, we're confident they will carry the values instilled at Parkrose with them, making a positive impact wherever they go.

In the spirit of spring, our athletic fields are buzzing with excitement as our spring sports season kicks into high gear. We're thrilled to see our talented athletes showcase their skills and sportsmanship on the field, track, and courts. Come cheer on our teams and show your school spirit along the way.

It's undeniably a great year to be a BRONCO! Stay tuned for more updates.

ATTENDANCE

Parkrose High School is committed to attendance both to school and in class during the day. In the spirit of the new year, we will be making every effort to ensure that students understand the importance of being in class on time and our policy around attendance.

Our goal is for every student to earn the credits they need to graduate on time with choices for their future which starts by attending class regularly. Students who have more than four unexcused absence (UA) periods in one week will receive a skipping referral which admin will process using the support ladder. Students who have more than five unexcused late (UL) periods in a week will be assigned lunch detention.

Please help us by calling 503.408.2689 or emailing Tiana Davis (attendance secretary) at tiana_davis@parkrose.k12.or.us if your student is going to be late, leaving early or missing all or any part of the school day.

Choosing Classes for Next Year!

Shaver Crosswalk

Bronco Families we are asking for your help! Before and after school we do our best to get car riding students out quickly and keep traffic moving. We also always want to keep the safety of our students at the forefront, to do so we have a crossing guard at the crosswalk between the MS and HS. There have been times when the crossing guard has come close to getting hit by a car while trying to provide our students a safe place to cross the street. Please help us by watching for the crossing guard if you come to pick up your student!

Off and Away - Technology Policy

At Parkrose High School, we prioritize creating a focused and productive learning environment for our students. To ensure this, we have implemented an "Off-and-Away" policy for personal electronic devices during classroom instructional time. Cellphones, earphones, and smartwatches are to be off and away in classrooms. Exceptions may be made upon approval.

This policy aims to minimize disruptions, enhance engagement, and promote meaningful interactions among students and teachers. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a conducive atmosphere for learning.
