🐯 DMS FAMILY UPDATES & REMINDERS 🐯

We are off to a great start at Demopolis Middle School! As we continue settling into the school year, please take a few minutes to review these important updates and reminders.

πŸ“ Mandatory Signature Form
If you have not completed the mandatory signature form, please do so ASAP. This form must be completed for every DMS student. https://forms.gle/dFBR549RfPQZXZbW8

🏈🏐 Football & Volleyball
Our football and volleyball seasons are underway! We hope you will come out and support our Tigers! πŸ―πŸ’™πŸ’› Please see the schedules below for upcoming games.

πŸ“Š Progress Reports & ACAP Scores
Progress reports will be sent home on September 10. Your student’s ACAP scores will also be attached to the progress report, so please be on the lookout for both.

πŸ“΅ Cell Phones & Yondr Pouches
Cell phones should be turned off and locked in a Yondr pouch as soon as students enter our campus.

This means that if your student arrives at 7:15 AM and reports to the gym or cafeteria, the phone should be turned off and the pouch should be locked at that timeβ€”not when students are released to class at 7:35.

Please emphasize this with your student so he or she does not receive a cell phone violation.

πŸ‘• Dress Code Reminder
Our main dress code issue continues to be shirts that are too short to be worn with leggings or other types of spandex pants.

Please check with your student before he or she leaves home. Shirts worn with leggings/spandex must be long enough to FULLY cover the front AND the back. We appreciate your help in making sure students arrive at school dressed appropriately.

⏰ Attendance & Tardies
Regular attendance and arriving on time are extremely important!

β€’ If a student is absent, he or she has three days to turn in an excuse.
β€’ If a student is tardy, the excuse must be turned in when the student arrives, or the tardy will be considered unexcused.
β€’ After the third unexcused tardy, the student will be assigned SAP.

If your child is tardy, please send a note or come inside to sign him/her in so the tardy can be properly documented.

🌟 Elite Tigers 🌟
We are excited to place an even greater emphasis on recognizing and rewarding GOOD behavior at DMS!

Our Elite Tigers program will recognize students who are making great choices and doing what is expected each day. We want our students to know that their positive behavior does not go unnoticed!

πŸ‘‰ See the image below for more details about becoming an Elite Tiger!

πŸ’™πŸ’› Thank you, DMS families, for your continued support and partnership. Working together, we can help our students have a successful school year!
