Principal's Message
Good evening, Yowell families. This is Mrs. Fiscus with your weekly update.
First, I want to thank all of the staff members and families who helped make our Trick-or-Treat Night such a wonderful event! We love it when we get to press pause on "school" for a moment and step into the fun of childhood. I hope Friday night becomes one of those small childhood memories that our students will always remember.
I also want to update you about picture retakes and class pictures. I was very disappointed with the way our class pictures turned out. The gym mats were visible in the background, the rows were extremely long, and some of our students were partially cut off. Our students and families deserve better, so I have asked the picture company to return and retake all of our class pictures.
We also realized that picture retake day was scheduled for the same day as our Day of Awesome. Since our students will be enjoying bounce houses and lots of outdoor activities, that may not be the best day to ask them to smile for pictures after they are sweaty and disheveled from all that fun! Both individual picture retakes and class picture retakes will be rescheduled. Please stay tuned for the new date.
Thursday is our Day of Awesome! This is the final celebration of our fall fundraiser, and all our students have certainly earned a day filled with bounce houses, outdoor activities, and lots of fun. We cannot wait to celebrate with them!
Friday, October 23, is our staff and student Pink Out. We invite everyone to wear pink as we come together to support breast cancer awareness. Friday is also Community Helpers Day for our kindergarten students.
This week, we are also celebrating our incredible bus drivers. They work hard every day to make sure our students arrive at school and return home safely. If your child rides the bus, please consider taking a moment at the bus stop to thank your driver for the important service they provide to your family and our Yowell community.
Have an amazing evening!

Transportation Information
In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here. Also, this is the direct link to transportation.
Parents of students Pre-K through Grade 3 are expected to meet their children at the bus stop. Failure to do so will result in the child(ren) being returned to school. Should you choose to allow your child(ren) to be dropped off without supervision in the afternoon, please fill out and return this document.
We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.
If your student requires transportation assistance, call the Transportation Department at 540-825-5446 or email them at transportation@ccpsweb.org
