I-Ready Family Center
This year SFMS will be using the I-Ready platform to help meet your students Intervention or Enrichment needs. We will continue to provide materials to you via this newsletter to help you supporting your student as their work through their Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) that will be created for them based on how they perform in the Beginning of the Year (BOY) Diagnostic.
Our BOY is set to be administered this week:
Tuesday - Math
Wednesday - Reading
All students will participate during our Acceleration class period. Please encourage your student to try their best so that we have an accurate picture of your students current understand and needs.
Also, I would encourage you to check out the I-Ready Family Center, which will provide lots of helpful information on how to support your student from home. It also will auto translate the webpage and resources into your preferred language. All you need to do is use the dropdown box in the upper right hand corner (see photo below).

CISD Distraction Free Education Policy
Cleveland ISD Implements Distraction-Free Education Policy for 2025-2026
To support student focus, well-being, and academic achievement, Cleveland ISD is implementing a Distraction-Free Education Policy aligned with House Bill 1481. This new policy limits the use of personal electronic devices during the school day.
What You Need to Know:
All personal devices (including cell phones, earbuds, smartwatches, etc.) must be powered off and stored away for the entire instructional day.
Why It Matters:
The goal is to reduce distractions, enhance emotional wellness, and strengthen student engagement with peers, teachers, and learning.
How Families Can Support:
- Talk with your child about staying focused and device-free at school.
- Ensure devices are stored in backpacks
- To reach your child during the school day, please call the school’s front office.
CISD Free Meal Policy
Cleveland ISD is proud to announce District-Wide Free School Meals for all students!
Thanks to the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), every CISD student will receive free breakfast and lunch every school day—no application required!
- Supporting student wellness
- Ensuring no child goes hungry
- Fueling academic success
We are committed to removing barriers so our students can focus on learning and growing
