Tynes Weekly Updates

Greetings from Dr. Borgese
π― Student Voice at Tynes: What We Heard & Whatβs Next
Tiger Families,
Recently, we brought together small groups of 4thβ6th grade students as part of our Our School, Our Say: Student Voice Forum. This was an opportunity for students to share their experiences and ideas in a supportive, structured setting. We are proud to share that students consistently highlighted the strong relationships they have with their teachers, staff, and peers. Many described Tynes as a place where they feel supported, enjoy learning with others, and value the sense of community we are building together.
Students also offered thoughtful and honest feedback about how we can continue to grow. Key themes included strengthening kindness and inclusion among peers, minimizing disruptions during learning time, and improving structure and supervision during recess and lunch. We are already using this feedback to refine our practices, reinforce positive behavior expectations, and ensure all students experience a safe, respectful, and engaging school environment.
Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us create the best possible experience for every student, every day. π―
Warmly,
Dr. Borgese

Jogathon Fundraiser
Our Jog-a-thon officially kicked off today! Students attended a fun assembly and learned about this yearβs prizes and how they can help raise funds for our school!
Goal: $22,000
If we reach it, the whole school earns an extra recess and Dr. Borgese and Mrs. Miller will dress up for the Jog-a-thon !Weβre using DoJiggy again this year for easy online donations (cash and checks are welcome, too). Information on setting up your studentβs fundraising page is coming home and included below.
There are:
Prizes for fundraising milestones
Awards for the top 3 fundraisers
A NEW grand prize for the overall top fundraiser
Class prizes for top-earning classes
Business Sponsorships β A Major Focus This Year
In addition to donations from family and friends, weβre placing a strong emphasis on growing our business sponsorships. Community sponsors make a huge impact and help us reach our goal faster.
You can help by:
Becoming a sponsor if you own a business
Asking your employer if they support local schools
Connecting us with a local business owner you know
Helping us reach out to businesses in the community
We have multiple sponsorship levels available, and sponsors receive recognition through event signage and school communications.
If youβre willing to help β even by reaching out to just one business β please let us know. Parent connections are incredibly powerful!
