🏫 What’s Happening at School 🏫 What’s Happening at School

A note from the Principal...

Dear Abraham Lincoln Families,

As we head into the Thanksgiving break, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude for our wonderful school community. Whether or not your family celebrates the holiday, this season offers all of us an opportunity to pause, reflect, and appreciate the people and moments that bring joy to our days.

I am truly thankful for our students, who bring curiosity, creativity, and kindness into our school each day. I’m grateful for our dedicated staff, whose commitment and care support every child’s growth. And I appreciate our families, whose partnership and encouragement help make our school a strong and welcoming place for all.

Over the break, I hope each of you finds time to rest, recharge, and enjoy moments with the people who matter most to you.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and refreshing break—we look forward to welcoming our students back soon!

~ Mrs. Ireland

Student Spotlight

On November 13, our very own third grader, Greta, proudly introduced the keynote speaker at the MPA Conference held at the Cross Insurance Center. She represented Abraham Lincoln School with confidence and positivity, showing exactly what it means to be RAMS strong. We are so proud of Greta and the leadership she demonstrated!

Ways to Show Thanks

  • Make a “Thankful Drawing”
Encourage your child to draw a picture of someone or something they’re thankful for—and share it with that person.

  • Practice “Thank You” Moments
Pick one moment each day to pause and say “thank you” together—at breakfast, bedtime, or after school.

  • Create a Gratitude Jar
Families can write or draw things they are thankful for on small slips of paper and collect them in a jar to read together.

  • Show Thanks with Kind Actions
Encourage simple acts of kindness: holding a door, helping a sibling, making a card for a neighbor or teacher.

  • Read a Gratitude-Themed Book Together
Choose a picture book that highlights thankfulness, kindness, or appreciation.

  • Start a “Thankful Walk”
Take a short walk and name things you notice that make you feel happy or grateful—nature, people, routines.

  • Make a “Helping Hands” Card
Trace the child’s hand and write (or dictate) one way they can help someone this week.

  • Share a Family Story
Talk about a person in your family’s life who has made a positive difference and why you’re thankful for them.

  • Celebrate Classroom Community
Ask your child who they appreciate in their class and why—this builds empathy and connection.

At the Heart of Abe, we believe that kindness, connection, and community make our school a special place to learn and grow. Each day, we see students supporting one another, celebrating differences, and taking pride in their school. This season of gratitude reminds us how fortunate we are to have families, staff, and students who work together to create a caring and welcoming environment for all.

Thank you for sharing your children with us and for being such important partners in their learning. Whether through a small act of kindness, a moment of curiosity, or a celebration of each other’s successes, our school community continues to shine—because of you.

Together, we make Abraham Lincoln School a place where every child can thrive. That is truly the Heart of Abe.
