HHS Families,

As we head into November, it's hard to believe how quickly the school year is moving! We are entering the final stretch of our first trimester, and this is an important time for students to stay focused on their academics, attendance, and responsibilities.

I encourage families to take some time this week to check in with their students about their grades, missing assignments, and overall progress. With only a few weeks remaining in the trimester, now is a great time for students to connect with their teachers, ask questions, and take advantage of opportunities for additional support.

We also want to remind families that Tuesday, November 3rd, is a Professional Development Day for staff, and there will be no school for students. This time allows our staff to continue collaborating and focusing on ways to improve teaching and learning for our students.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to help our students finish the trimester strong!

As our Bronchos head to Fenton for Friday's playoff game, we ask families to help reinforce spectator expectations with their students. All tickets must be purchased digitally through GoFan. Silly string, confetti poppers, or anything that creates a mess in the bleachers is strictly prohibited. Violations will result in removal from the game without a refund and may lead to additional school disciplinary consequences.

The HHS student section will be located at the far north end of the visitor bleachers. Please remind students to be respectful of other spectators and represent HHS positively.

Attendance Reminders for Parents & Students

Excused Absences:

Students may be excused for illness (with a doctor’s note), recovery from an accident, court attendance, professional appointments, a death in the immediate family, religious holidays, or other approved reasons.

Tardies & Prompt Arrival:
Arriving on time shows respect, responsibility, and helps maintain a productive learning environment. A tardy of 10+ minutes counts as an absence. Habitual tardiness (6+ times) can lead to warnings, after-school detentions, or suspension.

Sign-In Procedures:

• Arriving after 7:24 a.m.: Sign in at the Student Kiosk.

• Visiting offices during the day: Sign in with the secretary.

Student Responsibility:
Students are responsible for being present and on time. Consistent attendance supports academic success.

Reporting Absences:
Call the Attendance Office at 248-328-3227 with your child’s name, date, and reason for absence.
