Early Release Days

Please note that we will have 5 more early release days this year. They are scheduled for:

  • Wednesday, October 15, 2025
  • Wednesday, February 11, 2026
  • Thursday, March 12, 2026
  • Wednesday, April 8, 2026
  • Wednesday, May 13, 2026

It is VERY important that your child comes to school that day! Teachers focus on Reading, Writing, and Math for those three hours, so if your child misses they miss a days worth of very important curriculum lessons!

PTO Update PTO Update

Email from PTO President, Nick Martinez:

Hi Vine Street families,

Thanks to everyone who joined us last Wednesday. We started the evening with the volunteer training, annual Title I meeting, which went well, and then moved into our PTO business. Here’s a quick recap:

What we decided
• Fall Festival: Thursday, October 9, 5:30–7:00 pm (rain date: Thursday, October 16). Music, lawn games, tattoos, ice cream, and a StoryWalk (title 1).
• Costume Closet: gently used kids’ costumes will be available at the Fall Festival. Please send in clean, gently used costumes if you’d like to donate. No weapons, and costumes aren’t worn at the event.
• Monthly PTO meetings: first Wednesday of each month. Next meeting is Wednesday, October 1.

Where we need help
• Fall Festival setup/cleanup and stations: arrive 5:00 pm for setup; stay a few minutes after for cleanup. We can assign specific tasks during the next meeting.
• Tattoos and small activity tables: We’ll plug you in.

(Note: Picture Day volunteers are already covered – thanks to Hannah and Kelsey!)

Fundraising and community ideas
• CLYNK bottle drive: grab a pre-tagged bag, fill with returnables, and drop at a CLYNK location—proceeds go straight to the PTO. We’ll order more bags if we run low.
• Merchandise: we’re considering spirit wear options (possibly T-shirts with student-designed artwork). I’ll be looking into details and pricing.
• Restaurant nights: we’ll line up a monthly rotation again this year.

Please feel free to share this information with other parents who might be interested in the PTO. The more families who know what’s happening, the stronger our school community becomes.

Thank you,
Nicholas Martinez
Co-Chair, Vine Street PTO

Showing up matters for R.E.A.L., because it is an opportunity to:

  • Build Routines – Daily attendance routines can reduce stress, increase your child’s self-confidence, and lay a foundation for good attendance in later grades.

  • Increase Engagement – Participation in school helps your child connect with other children and adults and get excited about learning.

  • Provide Access to Resources – Schools can provide access to meals, physical and mental health care, enrichment activities (sports, clubs, music, afterschool and summer programs), and more.

  • Support Learning – Children learn best through hands-on activities and meaningful interactions with their teacher and peers.
