Spring and Weather Appropriate Clothing

This week we have had some warm temperatures and I thought it would be helpful to include our dress code policy. Here is the policy: What students are encouraged to wear when:

  • Below 60 degrees: Jacket or Long Sleeves
  • Below 50 degrees: Coat and Long Pants
  • Below 32 degrees: Winter Coat, Gloves, Hats, and Boots (when it is snowing/wet)
  • At or Below 10 degrees (wind chill or actual temperature): Indoor Recess.
I also think that it is important to remember that a high of 60 degrees may not happen until 4:00 p.m. so even though it is a 60 degree day, at recess it might only be 48 and we would require students to wear coats. We do our best to check the temperature before recess and we use that to determine appropriate attire. Please help us by making sure your child is dressed appropriately.

Pick-Up Line

Please remember to leave Lane 2 open until 3:00 in case of an emergency.

Picnic With Your People

We are planning another family event!!! On April 25 from 10:30-11:30 we are inviting families to grab a blanket, pack a picnic lunch and come in and have a picnic with your child. Students who get the school lunch that day will get a PBJ sack lunch. We will send a flyer home after break. We will need you to let us know if your child will be getting the school lunch or if you will be bringing in a picnic lunch.

Candy Fund Raiser

Thank you to everyone who helped to sell candy for our fundraiser. Mrs. Thompson's class sold the most and won a pizza party. Prizes have been ordered. On Monday during our assembly we will award the top seller trophy.

Teacher Requests For 25-26 School Year

When working on classes for next year we work really hard to balance classes. We also try to place students with the teacher. we believe, will best meet their needs. That being said, we understand that occasionally, parents have requests for their child's teacher. Should you have a request, please send me an email at dentona@bronsonschools.org. Be sure to let me know why you believe the teacher you are requesting is a good fit for your child.

Popcorn Friday

Thanks to a grant from Walmart, Popcorn Friday events are free for everyone. Our next popcorn Friday is on March 21. I have poppers for this date, but if you would like to help with the April or May Popcorn Friday-send me an email at dentona@bronsonschools.org.

Counselor's Corner

This month the counseling department is working on a variety of things. Second grade is working on: being responsible, brave and doing the right thing. First grade is working on being honest, optimistic and good. Kindergarten is learning about being themselves and doing what is right. Mrs. Ferry, our counselor, has set up a mentoring program where some of our older students are mentoring our younger students.

Weekly Leader Program

We continue to recognize students who are being leaders. We are excited about this program and hope to recognize all of our students who demonstrate leadership qualities throughout the year.
