Week 8 - Term 2
June 16th, 2025
Kia ora e te whānau,
As we enter Week 8, we want to start by saying a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along to our Learning Conversations last Tuesday afternoon. These conversations are such an important part of our home–school partnership, and your time, insights, and encouragement make a real difference to the learning journeys of our tamariki.
This week, we also look ahead to Matariki—a time for reflection, renewal, and togetherness. As we prepare to celebrate this special moment in the Māori calendar, we’re reminded of the importance of whānau, remembering those who have passed, and setting our hopes for the future. It’s a powerful time to pause, look up, and look forward.
Let’s carry that spirit with us through the week—working together, lifting one another, and shining bright for our learners.
Week 8 - Menu
Monday - Super Cheesy Macaroni
Tuesday - Jungle Chicken Curry with Vegetables & Rice
Wednesday - Beef meatballs with tomato sauce and Roast potatoes
Thursday - (Matariki burgers from TAPS) Chicken Pesto pasta salad
Friday - PUBLIC HOLIDAY - SCHOOL IS CLOSED
A big shout out to Bianca and Bailey who have spent the morning on Friday at the Piako Gym Sports Competition. Nassou and Sadan will join in this afternoon - we are proud of your efforts girls!
Matariki Lunch Thursday
Last chance today for orders. Students don't need to be ordered for. This form is JUST for parents/caregivers that are joining us for lunch. We will close the form at 8:00pm tonight (Monday) so please get in and complete the form if you plan to join us.
As Matariki rises, we are reminded that our strength lies not just in what we do, but in who we are—together. This is a time to honour those who came before us, to reflect on how far we’ve come, and to set our intentions for the path ahead. At TAPS, every child is part of that journey. Every whānau, every teacher, every small moment of kindness adds to the legacy we are building.
“Matariki hunga nui – Matariki of many people.”
Matariki brings us together—it is a time for all.
Thank you for walking alongside us. May this season bring you connection, gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Ngā mihi o te wā o Matariki – may this Matariki be a time of peace and inspiration for you all.
REMEMBER that school is closed for instruction on Friday 20 June (This Friday). It is a public holiday for Matariki - enjoy the long weekend
