The MRSD Staff Shoutout for September is Jessica Friedman!
MRSD has announced the Staff Shoutout for September: MRHS science teacher Jessica Friedman! Congratulations on this well-deserved honor! She was nominated by her students, and they said:
“Ms. Friedman has always been so kind and positive towards her students. If a student is struggling with a topic or lesson, she will help them immediately and even teach it in another way that they may understand better.”
“Seeing Ms. Friedman happy and being kind and welcoming to me just made me feel welcome.”
Each month, the district will feature a staff member in our Staff Shoutout series. Staff members can be nominated by students, parents/caregivers, and colleagues for outstanding positive contributions to our schools using the simple form at www.monomoy.edu/staffshoutout. Nominations for October are now open! Any staff members nominated in September can be nominated again, except for the honoree.

Powderpuff Recap - Seniors Win
It was a great game as the Seniors battled the Juniors in the Powderpuff game -- the Seniors prevailed with a score of 16-8.
Dear MRHS Community,
On behalf of the Class of 2026, we want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Powderpuff Game such a fun and memorable event!
We’re grateful to:
- All Players and Coaches from the Junior and Senior classes for their dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm.
- Student Volunteers who helped organize and keep the energy high.
- Staff and Administration for their support, supervision, and encouragement.
- Friends, Families, and Fans for coming out to cheer and show your school spirit.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without your participation and pride in our MRHS community. The energy on the field and in the stands truly showed what it means to be part of the Class of 2026 and MRHS family.
Thank you again for your support — we’re so proud of how everyone came together to make this tradition such a success!
With gratitude,
The Class of 2026
Spirit Week: Pajama Day!
The Outsiders are getting ready!
The rehearsals for "The Outsiders" Fall Drama Production are well underway. Last week, we were grateful to have special guest: Brian Evans Lore, a director and fight coordinator with several Cape Cod community theater affiliations, instructed us on the basics of stage combat and the safety measures necessary when "fighting" on stage. Save the date for the shows on November 13, 14, and 15, at 7 p.m., with a matinee show on November 12 for the 7th graders in order to connect their in class reading to what we are doing with the play.
Student volunteer opportunity: Toast of Harwich
The Harwich Chamber of Commerce is looking for student volunteers to help at the Toast of Harwich at the Wequassett Resort on November 21 from approximately 5 to 9 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering, email Cyndi Williams at cyndi@harwichcc.com.
Student volunteer opportunity: Walk to End Alzheimer's
The Walk to End Alzheimer's is on Sunday, October 19, at Cape Cod Community College and the organizers are looking for student volunteers to help with the event. Volunteering can include: help with set up, welcoming participants and event clean up. Hours of the event are 8-10 am, 10-12pm. Volunteer hour confirmations can be emailed to the school or picked up at the event.
Anyone interested in volunteering as a group or individuals can sign up via the volunteer link on the website or email pschwabe@alz.org.
