Dear South Parents and Guardians,
We have had a positive start to the school year, and it has been great to see students re-engaging with their learning and getting to know their teachers and classmates. While it is still early, a strong foundation is being set for the months ahead.
As we head into the end of September, we appreciate your continued support in helping students stay organized, on time, and ready to learn each day. Please continue to check PowerSchool and Schoology regularly to stay updated on grades and assignments.
A special thank you to our PTA who will be sponsoring the 6th Grade Activity Hour on Tuesday, September 24, from 2:45 to 3:45 PM. We are excited to provide this fun opportunity for our sixth graders to connect.
A quick reminder about drop-off and pick-up. Please pull all the way forward in the front circle drive to help keep traffic moving and ensure student safety. Avoid stopping on Highland Avenue or in non-designated areas, and please do not block handicap-accessible spaces. Your cooperation helps keep everyone safe and on time for school.
Thank you for partnering with us,

Morning Drop-Off Safety Reminder
As we continue to prioritize student safety during morning drop-off, we’re asking for your help to make sure our arrival routines are safe and smooth for everyone.
-
Always yield to walkers and bikers in crosswalks.
-
Do not drop students off at stop signs—this causes traffic to back up and creates unsafe conditions.
-
Use designated drop-off zones only—avoid letting students out across the street, which encourages unsafe crossings.
Thank you for helping keep our students safe!

Mexican Independence Day is a nationwide celebration. The country’s leaders were inspired by our own July 4 Independence Day festivities, so fireworks fill the skies at night and the day is filled with patriotic speeches, flag-waving, parades, live music, and feasts.
