Jaguar Tracks Sept 25
September 25, 2026
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Jaguar Community,
As we close another great week, thank you for the many ways you support our students, staff, and school community. Your partnership makes a tremendous difference every day.
A special thank you to our PTSA for hosting Fall Game Night on Wednesday. It was wonderful to see so many families connecting, laughing, and building community together.
Next week, we are excited to launch our first Cultural Assembly of the year as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Students will learn about and honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. We look forward to this opportunity to learn and celebrate together.
A few quick reminders and requests:
Family Income Survey (CNEEB Form): If you have not yet completed this form, please do so as soon as possible. While all students receive free meals, information from this survey helps determine important state funding that supports programs and services for John Hay students. https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
Bus Zone: Please help keep our students safe by not parking in the bus zone during arrival and dismissal. This allows buses to safely load and unload students.
Car Rider Loading Zone: For K-5 students, please use this area as a quick drop-off and pick-up zone. Remaining in your vehicle helps keep traffic moving safely and efficiently. (Preschool families should continue following sign-in/sign-out procedures.)
Thank you for helping us create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all students. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to another wonderful week ahead.
In partnership,
Jerid
Dr. Jerid Morisco, Principal
Complete the Student Data Verification Online Form
Due by September 30th, 2026
The student data verification form enables parents and guardians to update their household and student information online. This form includes important student health information, emergency and family contact information, and much more. This form is different than the Emergency Information and Student Release form that we sent home in red folders which also needs to be filled out.
To access, log in to your Source account and select Student Data Verification form from the navigation menu.
Child Nutrition Education and Education Benefits
All families, please fill out the application.
While all SPS students now receive free meals, it is still critical that every family completes the Child Nutrition Education and Education Benefits (CNEEB) application. The information collected through this form helps determine funding for important student support programs, including LAP funding at John Hay. Even families who do not qualify can help by completing the application and selecting the "I don't qualify" option.

Sign up for Jaguar Jog 2026!
What is Jaguar Jog? The Jaguar Jog is our annual fall fundraiser that funds all our events and activities throughout the year. Students collect pledges for donations per lap or a flat donation, then on October 16th each grade runs laps around the playground or school in a great celebration of school spirit, community, and physical activity! Parents, family, friends, teachers, and staff encourage and cheer students on during their run.
This event funds school and classroom supplies for every teacher and school department, student scholarships, after-school clubs and enrichment, and all our school events throughout the year.

Please consider volunteering at this event, all volunteers must be SPS approved. If you are a new volunteer, please start your application ASAP, as this could take 2-3 weeks to get approved.

π Help Make Trunk or Treat a Spooktacular Success!
Monster Mash is coming Friday, October 30, and we need your help bringing one of the kidsβ favorite parts of the night to life: Trunk or Treat!
Weβre looking for one decorated car from each grade, Pre-K through 5th, to transform the John Hay playground into a festive trick-or-treating destination. Go all-out with a theme or keep it simple. Friendly pumpkins, silly ghosts and Halloween decorations are all welcome!
Donβt have a car to decorate? You can still join the fun by teaming up with another family and helping decorate their trunk. The PTSA will provide the candy, and if decorating costs are a barrier, the PTSA can reimburse a portion of your supplies.
