Sneek Peek into Next Week
September 29- October 5th
Notes from Mr. Jones
We Begin Our Busy Time of the Year
🎉 Claywell Elementary Updates – End of Quarter 1 Comin Quickly (October 10th)
📚 Parent-Teacher Conferences
As we approach the end of the first quarter, many teachers have begun scheduling conferences. If your child is doing well and you feel a conference isn’t necessary, letting the teacher know is appreciated—especially for those managing two classes and up to 50 conferences!
🎊 Hispanic Heritage Night
One of our favorite family events is coming up! Join us for Hispanic Heritage Night—a celebration full of beautiful displays, delicious food, and lively dancing. It’s a night you won’t want to miss!
🎨 Clubs Begin October 8th
Our after-school clubs kick off soon! At around $6/day, it’s a great value. Teachers love sharing their hobbies with students, and we have a wide variety to choose from. Clubs are filling fast—scan the QR code below to sign up.
(And no, Mr. Jones will not be teaching salsa again—remember 2019? I don't either. 😄)
📚 Book fair is always a fun time for the kids as well. We weren't able to have our fall book fair last year due to the hurricanes, so hopefully you saved your money and will spend double this year. Our book fair is October 6th through October 10th.
🍬 Trick or Treat & Boo Bash
We’re gearing up for our annual Trick or Treating event followed by the Boo Bash!
🕔 Trick or Treating starts at 5:00 PM and lasts about 45 minutes.
🎉 Boo Bash follows immediately after.
If you spot any BOGO candy deals, please send donations to the office—we’ll store them until the big day!
📖 Character Book Parade – October 31st
Our beloved Character Book Parade returns on Friday, October 31st. Costumes, creativity, and smiles galore—this event always brings fantastic photo ops!
Would you like help turning this into a flyer, email, or social media post? I can also help with QR code placement or visuals if needed!
Dad Jokes
What is a ghost’s favorite Halloween treat?
Ice scream sandwiches.
Where do spiders do their Halloween shopping?

Why do cemeteries have waiting lists?

Key Dates to Remember:
🎉 Fundraiser Kickoff in school – 10/01/2025
👟 Event Day – 10/10/2025
Student Shout Outs
- From Mrs. Collins- Jordan Edge and Adelina Moreno are just top notch across the board, they are great participants in any and all lessons (including risking a wrong answer) and set a great example for their peers.
- From Mrs. Wells- I think a positive shout out for Amir Gale on the announcements might be good? I see a huge difference in him this year and am so proud!
From Mrs. Fishback- Shout out to one of the best patrols/PreK helpers we've had in a while, Layla L. She is so sweet with the kids in the morning carline. She's kind, helpful, and responsible. She listens and understands what we ask of her for the safety of our little ones. The kids adore her, and so do we. 🥰
Fall Book Fair
Our Fall bookfair will be October 6th to the 10th and students will get a chance to preview what's available on the 2nd and 3rd. Be on the lookout for wish lists that weekend!
Our bookfair helps to fund the purchase of our Library media books and materials for exciting programs to get your kids reading and your support means the world to us. Reading is an essential building block in every child's future, and our book fair offers exciting, current titles to stimulate imaginations and build their knowledge. I know there are many places out there where we can buy books, so choosing to support the book fair is a vote in favor of our school library and your child's access to book joy - I appreciate every dollar spent! Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wells, Library Media Specialist
P.S. If you can volunteer to help in our bookfair, sign up here: Claywell Media: Fall 2025 Bookfair Volunteers You must be a district approved volunteer with a completed volunteer application to assist.
