News/Reminders:
Please Complete- Climate Survey for Parents
The Parent School Climate Surveys from the State Department of Education are now available in the Forms section of your Parent Portal account. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please contact the school for assistance.
The survey can be accessed through your Parent Portal account on any computer or through the PowerSchool Mobile app, which can be downloaded to your cellphone. If you are using the mobile app, click the three dots and select βMoreβ to locate the survey in the Forms section.
Your participation is very important to our school. If you have more than one child in ACPSD, please complete a survey for each child. We kindly ask that you complete the survey as soon as possible, but no later than April 17.
While we don't always get feedback from the surveys, high parent participation and positive answers directly affect our school's state report card rating. Each year, we are working to improve our rating from the year before. Please reach out if you have any questions.
We will be sending a different survey out later this school year to get your thoughts about things we can put in place to make our school even better. This one will come directly to the school and allow us to take immediate action.
School Dance sponsored by the PTOπΊ
Our PTO is hosting a dance here at LMMS after school this Wednesday from 3:30-5:30. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 and they will sell snacks and drinks for $1-$2.
If students have received an out-of-school suspension during the month of March, they will not be eligible to buy a ticket to the dance.
Also, students MUST have a ride to pick them up at 5:30 from the dance. If their ride cannot be at the school by 5:30, the student cannot attend the dance.
Yearbook π
Super Proud of our Band! πΊπ·π΅
Huge congratulations are in order for the talented musicians at Leavelle McCampbell Middle School!
Both the 7th and 8th Grade Bands traveled to the Concert Performance Assessment (CPA) and brought home a rating of "Excellent." This achievement is a testament to their hard work, discipline, and passion for music.
Scaling the heights of musical performance takes months of practice, and these students truly rose to the occasion. We are so proud of our Rocks for representing LMMS with such skill and professionalism!
Cheer Tryoutsπ£

Important Reminders for Parents
- Please email excuses for absences to LMMSAttendance@acpsd.net
- To limit disruptions during the school day and to encourage students to be responsible for their own items, we will not accept items dropped off at the school past 9:30am.
- We cannot accept outside food items such as fast food or Door Dash-type deliveries for students.
- Also, please remember that students should not be dropped off and left unattended prior to 7:30am as we do not have staff supervision prior to this time.
- Parents should use the carline driveway to drop off and pick up students and not use the staff lot. The staff lot is for staff members only.
Personal Electronic Device Policy
Many students may have received new devices during the holidays. Please see the following Aiken County Public Schools policy regarding personal electronic devices:
Pursuant to ACPSD Board Policy JICJ, students are prohibited from utilizing personal electronic devices or accessories during the instructional school day.
For this policy, personal electronic device means any device utilized to access the internet, wi-fi, cellular telephone signals, or to capture images or video. This includes, but is not limited to cell phones, smart watches, tablets, and gaming devices.
This also includes the use of accessories. Personal electronic device accessories include any wired or wireless accessory or wearable technology that connects to a device and any other accessory commonly used in conjunction with a personal electronic device.
Although middle and high school students may possess a personal electronic device, the device should not be activated or utilized for any function unless specifically authorized as part of an instructional directive by a teacher or other classroom supervisor. Unless school-specific exceptions apply, the above specified devices should be turned off and placed out of sight and not in use during instructional day. This rule applies during established school day hours and at off-campus activities during the school day. (Principals may further restrict use before and after school as necessary.)
For each violation the student will be informed that he or she is in violation of the Electronic Device Policy, and the student will be asked to turn the device off and put it away. A referral for Cell Phone Violation (Code 330) will be entered.

Important Information About School-Issued Computers π»
Help us teach your children/our students about the importance of internet safety. We have had a recent increase in students viewing inappropriate material or emailing peers about inappropriate topics on their school laptops both at school and in their homes before or after school hours. While the district does have filters on the searches, no filter can catch everything. Middle schoolers are very clever and figure out ways around the safety features. We highly encourage you to speak to your children about internet safety and further encourage you to monitor your child's computer use while at home.
Students who engage in inappropriate searches on their school-issued laptop during or outside of school hours may be subject to disciplinary actions including having their laptops revoked.
Student ID Badges π
Students are expected to wear their ID badges daily.
