Coming Up: Dolphins Synchronized Swim Shows, FBLA’s Princess Ball, and 8th Annual Autism Awareness Soup Night
We’ve got your weekend and Monday night plans all set!
Dolphins Shows: Join us for a one-of-a-kind high school team experience. The Dolphins, the West Bend East and West High Schools synchronized swim team, will perform its shows at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23; Friday, April 24; and Saturday, April 25, and at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 25. See the poster below for the QR code to purchase tickets.
FBLA’s Princess Ball: The high school Future Business Leaders of America club is hosting a Princess Ball on Saturday, April 25 at 6 p.m. in the South Gym of the high school building. Girls ages 3-12 and an adult will have an evening of dancing, fun, and lasting memories. Check out the ticket details on the Community Bulletin Board.
Soup Night: On Monday, April 27, the 8th Annual Autism Awareness Soup Night is in the West Bend East cafeteria from 4 to 6 p.m. This event allows you to purchase a bowl and then try a variety of different soups from area restaurants. It will raise additional funds to support innovative learning opportunities and experiences for students receiving special education services.
Share Feedback on Elementary Attendance Boundaries and Start Times
Families with elementary-age students will receive a survey this week to gather input on potential future changes to elementary schools, including attendance boundaries and start times. This work is connected to the planned closure of Decorah and Fair Park Elementary Schools and the reconfiguration of Silverbrook. Currently, Fair Park runs on an alternate daily schedule from the other elementary schools.
We are seeking early feedback to help inform a recommendation for a future school board discussion. If you have an elementary-age child, we encourage you to take a few minutes to share your input when the survey becomes available via an email.
District Art Show Opens on Monday, May 4
Get to The Hub, 303 Water Street, West Bend, for the West Bend School District Art Show from Monday, May 5 through Sunday, May 24. There is a special opening event on Thursday, May 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Hub to celebrate the artists and the show.
Workshop for Parents/Guardians: Spotting the Signs & Navigating Substance Use and Social Media Pressures
Join the West Bend School District, West Bend Police Department, and Elevate Community Resource Center for a free parent/guardian workshop on Thursday, May 14 at Silverbrook Intermediate School library. This presentation will help you identify warning signs of substance use and social media pressure, understand current trends, and learn practical strategies for communicating with your child, setting boundaries, and knowing when to seek help.

Grad Grams Honor Graduates
Come graduation day, all East and West High Schools graduating seniors will have more than a diploma in hand, they will also have Grad Grams.
All you have to do is write any graduating senior that you know a note of congratulations (this is the Grad Gram). Those notes are compiled and presented to each graduating senior on graduation day.
The goal is to get at least one Grad Gram for each graduating senior! Think hard about who you know and fill out an electronic form on the WBSD website or download a Grad Gram from the same webpage to hand write a note and turn it into any school or the district office. All Grad Grams are due by Friday, May 29. Click here to access the details and the forms.
