Period 1 Breakfast
To meet USDA and MA requirements, we will keep the cafeteria open until 8:30 for students on late buses or those needing breakfast. If a student wants breakfast but arrives too close to the 8 am bell and goes directly to class, they can ask their teacher to get breakfast during that time. The teacher will give them a pass at a time that works for their class or shop instruction. See information below:
We want every student to have the chance to eat breakfast. Here's how it works now:
- The cafeteria is open until 8:30 every morning. If you have time before the 8:00 bell, get your breakfast then.
- If you didn't get a chance to eat and you went straight to class, that's okay, just ask your teacher.
- Your teacher decides when you can go, so you don't miss important instruction. Wait for the okay and a pass before you leave.
- You must have a completed pass before you go. No pass, no cafeteria.
- Late bus students will be given a pass for breakfast from the Main Office.
- However, students who drive or are driven will not be given a pass from the Main Office.
- You have ten minutes. Get your breakfast, eat, and come right back to class or shop.
- This is for students who missed breakfast. It is not a break, not free time, and not a reason to be out of class for half an hour.
- If you drive to school, plan to get here on time. Running late is not a reason to take extra time in the morning.
Questions? Talk to your teacher or stop by the main office.
If there is a bus route issue or concern call Cape Destinations at 508-432-3400
School begins at 7:54. Attendance is taken in the classroom/shop at 8am.
Late Bus
The late bus is available for all student-athletes and students participating in after-school activities. Students who do not participate in activities will be denied late bus access. Students heading west of CCT do not need to sign up for the late bus. We may request students heading east of CCT to sign up to determine ridership and size of bus transportation.

Letter About Cell Phone Policy
Dear Cape Tech Students & Families,
Beginning in the 2026 - 2027 school year, Cape Cod Tech will transition to a cell phone-free environment, supported by the use of Yondr pouches. This decision was prompted by recent legislation at the state level. It is likely that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will soon require schools to be cell-phone-free zones from bell-to-bell, meaning from the start of the school day to the official end of the school day.
The decision to move forward with a cell phone-free environment is grounded in both research and community feedback, which indicates that cell phones have increasingly become a barrier to student learning and well-being. Excessive smartphone use is linked to lower grades and diminished classroom engagement. Social media and constant connectivity also contribute to higher rates of anxiety, depression, and disrupted sleep. Furthermore, teachers report that managing cell phone use consumes valuable instructional time, distracting both students and staff. Many districts across the Commonwealth have successfully implemented a similar practice, resulting in improved focus and fewer classroom disruptions.
Beginning on day one of the 2026 - 2027 school year, the process will be straightforward. Upon arrival at school, students will turn off their phones (and other personal electronic devices), place them in a Yondr pouch, and secure it before entering the building. Students will keep the Yondr pouch with them all day. During the school day, phones will remain locked in the pouch until dismissal. At the end of the day, students will unlock their pouches at designated stations before leaving. Emergency contact with your child during school hours will still be available through the Main Office, and accommodations will be made for students with specific medical needs. A brief video that shows how Yondr pouches work is here.
And here is a Electronic Device Policy FAQ sheet.
This summer, we are working closely with Yondr to plan the implementation and to provide training for staff. At the start of the new school year, we will share more information with families outlining the details of the rollout and what to expect during the transition.
We are confident that this change will foster a more focused, engaging, and safe learning environment for all our students. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to create the best learning environment we can at Cape Cod Tech.
Sincerely,
William Terranova,
Principal
Cape Cod Regional Technical High School

Attendance, Tardy, and Dismissal Policies
Attendance Matters
The state expects a 95% rate for student attendance. We want to achieve a higher rate for the year. We can do this, but students need to come to school everyday. Over the last two years our attendance policy has been more lenient than in the past. This year we will be re-instituting the policy to the fullest extent. Our expectation is that you will follow future employer's expectations. Remember, your boss will expect you at work everyday, and so will your co-workers. Build healthy habits now. Come to school because we want you here!
Tardy
If a student is not present in the class/ shop at the time attendance is taken in the morning, they will be marked tardy and will have to report to the main office for a tardy pass. Accumulation of excess tardies as defined in the student handbook will result in disciplinary action. Being on time is an employability skill. Cape Cod Tech not only trains students in skills specific to their technical area but CCT also teaches professionalism and employability skills to the standards of the industries in which they represent.
Please see below a quick link to our attendance policy as well as other important information about attendance.
