The PTA would like to thank you for another successful year! We hope that you enjoy the yearbooks we recently provided to each student. PTA also covers field trips for all students, teacher classroom set up fees, teacher luncheons, and financial support for community building events (Fall Fest, Pizza Bingo, Field Day). We look forward to your contributed participation and we hope yo enjoy the summer!

I am really excited to share the new Crew members for the 2026-2027 school year. More introductions will come in the Back-to-School News. This just about finalizes all new staff members.

This is a wonderful group of dedicated educators who are going to bring new perspectives and talents to our Crew! There is a wealth of experience among this group. I can’t wait for them to join us and meet this amazing community.

Dear Westchester Families,

We are so proud of the accomplishments, perseverance, and kindness shown by our Westchester students this semester. Each member of our Westchester crew is an invaluable part of our learning community, with unique gifts and contributions that fill our school with moments of joy every day.

We assess students’ growth and achievement in many ways throughout the year, including the STAR test. STAR is a computerized adaptive test which helps teachers, parents, and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child's academic growth. It is one of several measures that contribute to the full picture of a student’s growth and achievement. You will find your student’s STAR Reports for Reading and Math in their backpack today, as well as a letter indicating whether your child is at risk for not meeting grade level standards based on these screeners.

Please use this opportunity to celebrate the many ways that your student’s gifts show up and make them shine, and encourage their continued hard work and kindness as they develop into the incredible people that they are.

STAR Family Information

We are pleased to share that your child's Final Report Card will be available in the Parent Portal on Thursday, May 28th. We encourage you to review the report card with your child, celebrate their accomplishments, and discuss any areas where additional support may be helpful. If you have questions or concerns about your child's grades, please don't hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or school administration. We are committed to partnering with you to support your child's growth and learning.

Directions for accessing grades in the Parent Portal are on page 23 of the Grading and Reporting Handbook.

In addition to your student’s report card grades, there is an additional indicator of End of Year Final Grade for each content area.

E=Exceeds standards

M=Meets standards

N=Does not meet standards

School Lunch Policy: Please be sure to maintain a positive lunch balance for your child. This will help us avoid any unexpected lunch changes for students. Check your Parent Portal frequently to make sure your child has adequate funds for the cafeteria. You may also find the Parent Portal app (for Apple or Android) to be more convenient.
