Hello Creekside Families,

I hope you had a blessed and restful Thanksgiving break. The teachers, in partnership with the PTA, are excited about our Square One Art Fundraiser. The due date to order products in time to receive them before Christmas is December 2; however, the window to order will remain open as long as we want. Your child's art is a perfect gift for family members. To view their project go to https://shop.square1art.com/Shop/artwork/Search. You need to enter our school name and the student's name. Once you find the art work, you can start shopping! I have a hot plate with my daughter's art on it from EAK. It still sits in my kitchen. I love this fundraiser.

Here are some updates and reminders to keep you informed:

EAK registration is open! Spread the word! EAK starts in-person learning on January19.
Pastries with the Principal is scheduled for Thursday, December 3 at 9:30am. See flyer and Zoom link below.
Thank you for your continued support with following our protocols while on campus: respecting the drop off/pick up times, wearing a mask, and leaving campus promptly after drop off and pick up.

The district continues to serve food during our Hybrid Schedule on Mondays from 11:00am to 12:30pm at JMMS to AUSD families. If that time doesn't work for you, there is also a 5:00 pm pick up.
Child Nutrition Services will begin offering snack pick up for students at CELC during pick up times. Hybrid A parents may pick up snacks on Mondays, and Hybrid B parents may pick up snacks on Thursdays. The grab and go snack bag will contain 5 days worth of snacks. This is available to all students 18 and under. See flyer below for more information.
Please report all absences to the office. We are required to trace all absences. Illnesses may require a 10-14 day stay at home. All students that are out for any reason will be temporarily assigned to distance learning. They can receive credit for their time off campus if they complete work online.

Every Monday is College Spirit Day. Wear your favorite college shirt!
Join us for VIRTUAL FUN FRIDAYS. This Friday, December 4 is National Cookie Day! Share your favorite cookie brand or type. Share a recipe if you would like. Post a picture of you eating your favorite cookie on social media using #virtualfunfriday, #nationalcookieday.

The district is still providing free wifi access at CELC, SHES, JMMS, and BOES. Just park in the lot and log in. The wifi name is AlpineUnited and no password is needed.

We Are Hiring

This will be in place during Phase 3 (beginning January 19). Please help spread the word. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Mrs. Ripke.

Cubs in the Community

The 2020-21 “Cubs in the Community” is on a roll. Connecting with kids is one of the most essential parts of building relationships and fostering learning. Mrs. Ripke has set a goal to connect with 100 future, current, and former Cubs in the community by the 100th day of school. If you spot Mrs. Ripke out in the community, please say hi and take a picture with her. Former CELC staff count too! Our pictures may look different this year due to social distancing; however, all of the love will still be there! She can’t wait to hand out hugs again when it is safe. Mrs. Ripke is up to 31 Cub Sightings. See Cub Sightings #30 and #31 below.

Virtual Fun Fridays

To help foster school spirit and stay connected during Distance Learning, the Alpine Union School District will post Virtual Fun Friday Dress Up Days. Postings will be on the AUSD Facebook and Instagram Pages. If you are not already following us on FB or IG, please join us! We hope that you will all participate and post pictures on social media using the hashtags provided. CELC parents may email the pictures to Mrs. Ripke at tripke@alpineschools.net.
