Dear Tiger Families,

What a wonderful start to the school year! Today, our students attend Mass in celebration of the Assumption of Mary. It is such a blessing to be together again as a school community—learning, praying, and growing in faith.

🌟 Back to School Bash – Tonight!
Don’t forget to join us tonight from 6:00–8:00 PM on the playground for our Back to School Bash! It’s a great chance to connect with other families and kick off the year with fun and fellowship. We hope to see you there!

📅 No School – Friday, August 22
There will be no school next Friday due to our Teacher Institute Day. Please plan accordingly!

🎪 Parish Picnic Volunteers Needed
We’re looking for volunteers to help with the Parish Picnic:

Friday, August 22 – Help with setup
Saturday, August 23 – Help run games and activities

TIGER REMINDERS

ARRIVAL:

Doors will open at 7:30am in the front of school.

DISMISSAL:

Dismissal Times:
PreK 3 & 4 - 2:50 pm

Kindergarten - 3rd Grade - 2:55 pm

4th - 8th Grade - 3:00 pm

Due to safety reasons, all parents/guardians who are picking up students PreK - 3rd grade must walk up to get their student. We thank you for your understanding and support.

Students who are not picked up by 3:10 pm will be walked down to Extended Care.

Extended Care fees are $13 per day, per child from 3:10pm - 5:30 pm

LUNCH:

School lunches cost $3.95 per lunch with milk costing $0.75.

Students from 5th to 8th grade will have four lunch choices; two rotating choices, a salad, or a sandwich.

PreK -- 4th Grade will have three lunch choices; two rotating choices, or a sandwich. NO SALAD

Lunches may be paid for through the prepay option of each students FACTS account or by cash/check in the St. Teresa School Office.

Parents/Guardians can deposit money for meals into their FACTS Management Account.

CHROMEBOOKS: 5th - 8th Grade

Please ensure your student is bringing their Chromebook back to school each day charged. Chromebooks that are not charged will be treated as if the student is not prepared for class.

Water Bottles:

Students are allowed to have water/water bottles for daily use. Water bottles must be translucent in color. Water bottles should contain water only and should be stored in the student’s locker or in a place at the teachers discretion throughout the day.

Dress Code:

Students may wear ANY COLOR spirit wear on Fridays, as long as it is in good taste and says St. Teresa School on it.

This includes Team Adam gear, which may only be worn on Fridays.

NON-UNIFORM DAYS

Ensure you are follow the Student/Parent Handbook on non-uniform days.

PTO Dining Fundraiser at Raising Canes

Who loves chicken?! Please join us for a PTO fundraiser at Raising Canes on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 10am-10pm. Stop in for lunch or grab dinner after celebrating Grandparent’s Day at St. Teresa. Mention our fundraiser at the register or apply code RCFUND96 to online or app orders at checkout and Raising Canes will donate 15% of sales to St. Teresa Catholic School PTO. Thank you for supporting our school!

Interested in Becoming an Altar Server?

Students who have received their First Communion are invited to become trained altar servers. To sign up or learn more, please contact Sandy Jouglard at (618) 806-9535.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION DUE BY OCTOBER 3rd

All volunteers must complete the forms and training listed below by October 3rd in order to be allowed to volunteer in classrooms, class parties, field trips, etc. for the 2025-2026 School Year!

Complete the proper forms and Child Protection Training. These forms and training are as follows:

Application for volunteer service
Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System (CANTS) form
Initial Child Protection Training or Refresher
Background check for those who have resided in Illinois less than 5 years.

If your child has a field trip before Oct. 3rd all forms must be completed and turned in three weeks before the field trip.

We are excited to announce that the CANTS process has moved to an electronic format. Now when you need a CANTS check or need to update the CANTS check, I will initiate a link via the DCFS portal that will be delivered to your email address. This will come from the email address Dcfs.CFS689BackgroundCheck@illinois.gov. Instructions will be included in the email so that you can verify your information and authorize the request. If you see anything incorrect with what I have included, please let me know before you proceed with the authorization, so that I can correct the information and resend you the link.

Volunteers make a big difference in our day, and we’re so grateful for your time and support. Just a friendly reminder — all volunteers must be up to date with child protection requirements.

Once a month at the 11:00 AM Mass at St. Teresa Church, we celebrate our Children and Youth Mass.

During this special liturgy, the young members of our parish are invited to take part in the ministries of the Mass—serving as greeters, ushers, readers, and gift bearers.

Our next Children and Youth Mass will be held on Sunday, September 21st at 11:00 AM. We encourage all families to mark their calendars and join us for this joyful celebration.

Hello St Teresa

The golf outing will be held on Saturday October 4th @ 1:00 at Tamarack golf course. Last year we partnered with Blessed Sacrament and QP that made for an awesome day. We had a full tournament and beautiful weather. I was encouraged that each school carried their own weight on teams and sponsorships; allowing each school to make significantly more for their athletic departments.

Please take the opportunity to participate by playing and or sponsoring. Please note every dollar donated by St Teresa families will come back to us.
