Message from WHS Student Services
January kicks off the year with many wonderful things in the Student Services Department with Course Registration, Freshman Preview Night and our continued Junior Meetings. Course registration begins January 12th for all returning students.
For incoming students, Freshman Preview Night is January 12th at 5:45 pm at Watertown High School in the WHS auditorium. Freshman Orientation will continue with course registration in student classrooms at Riverside Middle School on January 20th.
Our School Counselors are about halfway through Junior meetings, and anticipate finishing up in February. A BIG thank you to the students, families, and staff for their flexibility as we work to support our 11th grade students!
2023-24 WHS Course Selection
Information will be sent to WHS students and families the week of January 9th regarding the course selection process for the 2023-24 school year. WHS students will utilize ELT on January 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th to engage in academic planning and begin the course selection process. Stay tuned for additional updates and be sure to ask your student about what courses they are planning on taking for the 2023-24 school year after course registration materials are distributed.
Junior ACT Information
Junior students will take the statewide ACT test in person at WHS on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. We have distributed ACT Prep information (myact.org) to junior students before Winter Break.
In addition, WHS will be offering ACT prep courses in the areas of English/Reading, Math, and Science on Saturdays in February. Students can sign up for an individual course for a fee of $10 per course OR students can sign up for all 3 courses for $25. Students interested in participating should sign up with the Bookkeeper, Mrs. Klinger, in the Front Entrance Office. The dates and times for each course are as follows:
2/4/23 - ELA and Reading - 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
2/11/23 - Math - 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
