Carlton County Federation Meeting October 11th at 6:30 p.m.

We will be having a Federation meeting on Monday, October 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Government Service Building 1307 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet. It is VERY important that we have a good representation of our 4-H youth and volunteers (including parents!) at our Federation meetings so that plans for the year can be made and programming can be decided.

Additionally, we will be electing Federation officers and working on our constitution and bylaws.

NEW Club Leader Resources !

Here are some resources for club leaders to use in their club meetings and other helpful information to have a successful 4-H year!

Club Charters are due to the Carlton County Extension Office October 31st by 4:00 p.m.

  • Charter Information and forms are in this link https://extension.umn.edu/4-h-clubs/leading-4-h-club#chartering-2979710 . If you have any questions on chartering please reach out to Katie Siltanen silta006@umn.edu
  • Here are some great ways to start meetings with an ice breaker ! https://extension.umn.edu/4-h-clubs/leading-4-h-club#welcome-2978460
  • Another great idea for clubs is to create a group agreement. A group agreement is used to make sure youth feel comfortable and safe in their learning environment! Minnesota 4-H statewide service project

Each year, the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors select a service theme to engage all Minnesota 4-H youth in learning about a community issue and taking steps to make a positive, collective impact. The theme is determined by input collected from youth at leadership conferences, 4-H staff across the state and the state ambassadors.

The statewide service theme for the 2022-2023 program year is “Branch Out and Go Green with Minnesota 4-H,” which encourages youth to perform service that has a positive impact on the environment. The state ambassadors have created 10 challenges for individual youth and/or youth groups to give back to their community and be eco-friendly.

Each Month the State Ambassadors Challenges County 4-H Clubs to participate in these Monthly Service projects. October is building and donating Bat Houses to learn more about the project please check out https://extension.umn.edu/4-h-ambassadors/minnesota-4-h-statewide-service-project#october---build-and-donate-bat-houses-3253461
