Breaking News

Students brought home their field trip permission slips for our first field trip to the Missouri Historical Society LIbrary and Research Center. The specific date for your child’s field trip is noted on the permission slip. Our four scheduled dates are September 19, September 25, September 26 and September 27.

Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to join us!!

We will leave at 9 a.m. for each trip and return to Hixson by 11:30 a.m. Students will eat lunch at the school when we return.

Upcoming Due Dates

The 5 Regions Google Slides PBL are due on Friday, September 13, 2019!!

PBL presentations will begin on Monday, September 16, 2019!!

All field trip permission slips are due by Friday, September 13, 2019!!

Classroom Happenings

This week, the students continued their research for our very first Project Based Learning experience!!! Students participated in a mini-lesson about “Citing Sources-MLA.”

Our driving question is “How does where you live influence how you live?” Students discussed the “The Delmar Divide” in Saint Louis and chose a city in their assigned region to examine demographics. Students are beginning to identify, discuss and understand inequities in opportunities and outcomes in communities across the nation.
