Nova Lakes Insider
Week of April 27th - Volume 1
College & Career Recap
This week, Nova Lakes students explored the many pathways available after high school through college awareness, career exploration, military opportunities, community partnerships, volunteer experiences, and workforce connections.
As our first College & Career Week, it was exciting to see students engage with professionals, ask questions, discover new interests, and begin thinking about their futures.
Success looks different for every student, and every pathway matters.

ππ€ Higher Scores = Bigger Opportunities! π€π
On October 30, 2026, all Nova Lakes High School sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT.
This is more than just a practice test. The PSAT/NMSQT provides valuable SAT preparation, offers juniors the opportunity to compete for National Merit Scholarship recognition, and helps students gauge their readiness for future scholarship opportunities such as Bright Futures.
With increasing scholarship test score requirements, every point matters. We encourage all students to take the exam seriously and spend time preparing before test day.
Khan Academy can be accessed through Classlink and offers free PSAT/SAT practice resources to help students build confidence and improve their scores.
Start preparing now and invest in your future!
Any questions, see our College and Career Counselor, Mrs. Nazario.
Book Lovers!
This month, the Media Center invites students to explore books that fit our theme of Dark Academia! From mysterious schools and secret societies to ambitious scholars, classic literature, and atmospheric adventures, we've got books that capture the spirit of this popular literary sub-genre.
Encourage your student to stop by the Media Center during lunch to browse the featured books, discover new reads, and check out books that match the theme. See the attached schedule for when the Media Center will be open for lunch. Whether they're already a Dark Academia fan or simply looking for their next great read, there's something waiting for them on our shelves!
