Week Thirty-Four Notes

Hello Viking Families,

As we move through the middle of May, it is incredible to reflect on how much our students have grown throughout the school year. Our classrooms remain busy with engaging learning opportunities, end-of-year projects, assessments, and exciting school activities that continue to keep students motivated and connected. We are especially proud of the perseverance, teamwork, and positive attitudes students are showing as routines become busier and the end of the year approaches. Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and encouragement at home as we work together to finish the school year strong and celebrate all that our students have accomplished!

With Viking Pride,

Mrs. Love

We will be transitioning to Apptegy Rooms over the course of spring/summer 2026 for most school communications. Announcements and messages will be organized by students' classes and activities. Rooms will be your one-stop-shop for routine announcements from teachers and staff. You'll be able to message staff members right from the DCS app (Google Play Store | iOS App Store).

More information will be coming. For now, take some time to familiarize yourself with the DCS app and the basics of messaging with Rooms. If you have any questions, please reach out to us in the Tech Office at tech@dundeeschools.org.

Dundee Community Schools has provided you with the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. The Infinite Campus Parent Portal allows you to have real-time access to announcements, attendance, report cards and more. We would like every parent to have access to this tool as all report cards will now be here. No paper copies will be sent home unless requested. Below is a link to create and activate your Campus Parent account.

When creating your Campus Parent portal account, please keep in mind the following:

• Each parent/guardian should have their own separate portal account. It is not recommended to share an account. • Do not share your account information with your student. Each student has their own unique Campus Student portal account.

• Create your own unique username. Please DO NOT use your student's ID number or network login.

• Enter a password until at least the indicator for the password turns green and says 100%.

• Please know that there is an app available for Infinite Campus in the Apple App and Google Play stores.

• Please bookmark this site for easy access https://dundeemi.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/dundee.jsp

Mental Health Matters Mental Health Matters

This May, we’re celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month with the heart-warming theme: "More Good Days Together." Here are some simple, at-home tips for families to practice "More Good Days Together" throughout May:

· Name it to Tame it: Encourage your child to talk openly about their feelings. You can lead by example by naming your own emotions out loud—using simple words like "stressed," "worried," or "excited"—to show that all feelings are normal.

· The 3-3-3 Grounding Tool: If your child feels overwhelmed or stuck in "spiraling" thoughts, try this quick sensory reset: have them name 3 things they see, 3 sounds they hear, and move 3 different parts of their body.

· Create a "Gratitude Jar": Find a see-through jar and some small items like marbles or beans. Every time someone notices an "act of kindness" or a reason for a "good day," add an item to the jar to visualize your collective well-being.

· Move Together: Physical activity releases endorphins that naturally boost mood. Whether it’s a family walk, a bike ride, or a "30-second dance party," moving together is one of the easiest ways to turn a day around.

· "Check-In" Rituals: Try a daily 5-minute check-in where everyone shares one highlight (a "good" moment) and one challenge from their day. This builds a routine of connection and support.

Please reach out if you are in need of additional support.
