A Message from Mrs. Albright
Friday, September 4, 2026
We kicked off an amazing week together with an energetic pep rally full of school spirit, laughter, and cheer! It was fantastic to see our students so enthusiastic and united as a school community. As we dive into the rest of the month, we are excited to see everyone put our 4 Bee Rules into action each and every day.
While our students brought fantastic energy to our pep rally, we are seeing many of them struggle to carry those same 4 Bee Rules over to the school bus. We have observed several unsafe behaviors during rides, including students standing on seats, switching seats while the vehicle is in motion, and yelling. Because student safety is our top priority, the bus company and school administration will be actively reviewing bus video footage to monitor behavior. Please note that continuing to engage in unsafe behaviors on the bus may result in a loss of bus privileges. We appreciate your partnership in reviewing these safety expectations with your child at home so everyone can enjoy a safe ride to and from school.
Show off your team pride for our "Let's tackle the school year" Spirit Day on Wednesday, September 9th! We invite all students and staff to wear their favorite football jersey, shirt, or team colors as we tackle the new year together. Let's fill the halls with team spirit and make it a fun day for everyone!
Say cheese! A quick reminder that Friday, September 11 is Picture Day. Be sure to bring your best smiles and dress in your favorite outfits so we can capture a great portrait for the school year. Say cheese!
Don't forget to mark your calendars for Fall Family Fun Night on Wednesday, September 23! Bring the family for an evening of hands-on crafts, fun games, and autumn activities as we kick off the school year. Stay tuned for full event details coming your way soon.
Gather your family and join us for the York Suburban Homecoming Parade on Thursday, September 24! We will line up in front of York Suburban High School by 6:15 PM to kick off an evening packed with community spirit. Stick around after the parade to cheer on the powderpuff games, the bonfire, and enjoy lively homecoming festivities for all ages. Don't forget to wear your orange and black to help us celebrate!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful long weekend making memories together! Enjoy the holiday!

Character Counts - Respect
During the month of September we are focusing on what it means to show respect. Respect means treating people, places, and things in a kind and caring way. At Yorkshire Elementary, we show respect by listening quietly when our teachers and friends are talking, using gentle hands with school materials, and remembering to say "please" and "thank you." When you are in the community, you can show respect by being quiet in places like the library, being careful with park equipment, and being polite to all your neighbors. Respect helps make our school and community a wonderful place to be.
