MEAUX ELEMENTARY NEWSLETTER

Attendance at Meaux is a priority! Students in attendance have the opportunity to earn incentives and recognition. Grade levels are recognized each week for having the highest percentage of attendance for the week. Classes who meet the 97% average goal for the month receive the incentive for that month. (See below) Any student who has perfect attendance for the month receives that month's brag tag to add to their book sack loop. Incentives and brag tags will be awarded on October 1st to qualifying students. Students with perfect attendance for the year will be recognized at our end of year award ceremony.

Students with no major office referrals for the first nine week marking period, will be treated to music, fun, and games on Friday, October 10th at our annual PBIS Fall Fest Event. Students will spend their Pat Cash to play fall themed games in the gym at their designated scheduled time. Students may wear a Halloween or fall themed shirt with blue jeans or uniform bottom. Reminder that all 'out of uniform' dress must adhere to the VPSB dress code guidelines.

We want to extend a special thank you to the many volunteers who help to make this event possible.

Each month teachers select one student from their classroom to represent their class as the Meaux Model Student. Students are selected based on our PBIS schoolwide expectations. They serve as classroom ambassadors and leaders who have special duties as assigned by their teacher. It is an honor to be selected as the Meaux Model Student of the Month. Student's are recognized at a schoolwide pep rally, and are awarded certificates and pins which can be worn every day. At the end of the month, these students' parents are invited to have cafeteria lunch with them. In addition, we also name a teacher and support person of the month.
