Principal's Message
Welcome back for another great school year!
We are very excited to have students back in our building this week. We hope that everyone got a chance to relax and recharge over the summer. As we come back to school, our teachers are ready to work with students to ensure that they have a great year of learning. Parents, you are encouraged to reach out to your child's teachers early, and to keep track of their progress on PowerSchool.
Our custodial staff did a great job of preparing the school for students. We were also fortunate in that we had some renovations done on our Secondary boys washroom over the summer that were completed just prior to school starting. The school is in great shape.
In the coming days we will be sending out information about PowerSchool and the School Messenger App, as well as information regarding cross country and volleyball. If you have had trouble receiving messages from the school in the past, I'd ask that you keep an eye on the school website as well, as we will be posting information there on how to ensure you are getting all communication.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me by either calling the school or emailing me at lmackenzie@brsd.ab.ca
Wishing everyone a great 2025-2026 school year.

Updating Your Child's Information
In past years, as a school we used to send home a paper copy of the registration form to be updated for all students. This process is now done through PowerSchool Portal, and is important to update every year.
To access this information, you must use a web browser, not the PowerSchool App. All parents have access to the portal through our website, and click here to find it. Once in the portal, you need to look for the "School Engage" icon on the left hand side. All parents have a username, which would follow this structure: firstname.lastname. If you've forgotten your password, you can request one from there.
You should have received an email in early August asking you to update your information. This is a very important process as it gives you the opportunity to update your contact information, emergency contacts, and many other things. It also asks you to sign forms for Acceptable Use of Technology and to indicate your FOIP preferences for your child(ren). This forms must be completed by the end of September. If they are not complete, we will be reaching out to remind parents, but we may have to limit internet access to students if these forms are not complete.
If you need assistance completing these forms, please contact the office.
Hot Lunches
Hot Dog, Ice Cream, and Milk Cards
Due to the continued rising cost of groceries, we have had to slightly increase the cost of hot dog and milk cards for students to $15.00. The ice cream cards have remained the same for the time being. Any students with cards remaining from last year will still be able to use those cards until they run out.
