Happy Friday, Bryant Families,

Our students stayed warm and worked hard this week—we are so proud of their effort and focus! Thank you for making it a priority to have your child at school on time and ready to learn each day. Your partnership truly makes a difference.

Hello Bryant Families!

A belated welcome back from Winter Break! I can't believe how fast this year is flying! I’m excited to share what students are learning in our Social Skills lessons over the next several weeks - we will be learning all about Empathy and Kindness!

🌈 What Are We Learning?

In our lessons, students are learning how to:

Notice how others feel by looking at faces, listening to voices, and paying attention to body language
Name feelings in themselves and others
Show empathy by caring about how someone else feels
Practice kindness through helpful words and actions

We will talk, watch videos, participate in activities, and practice real-life situations to help students understand how their choices affect others.

🤝 Why Empathy & Kindness Matter

When students learn empathy and kindness, they:

Make stronger friendships
Feel safer and more included at school
Learn how to solve problems peacefully
Help make our school a caring community

🏠 How Families Can Practice at Home

You can help build empathy and kindness at home by:

Asking: “How do you think that made them feel?”
Talking about feelings during stories, shows, or daily events
Praising kind actions, big or small
Encouraging children to help others and use kind words

Do one kind act each day this week
Share how it felt to give or receive kindness

I am learning to connect symbols with sound.

I am learning to visually identify and name classroom percussion instruments.

3-5 Strand February

I am learning to identify symphonic instrument families by sound.
I am learning to identify treble clef notes (4th and 5th only).
I am learning to recognize same and different parts of music (4th and 5th only).
I can show the difference between beat and rhythm (3rd only).
